There is one thing that really bothers me on this site. Ito s members putting other members down. It could be members trolling, being rude, or just flat out putting others down. There are also some higher levels who think that they can be mean to lower levels just because they areno t as talented as them. But then of course, there are ways to help stop these sorts of behavior. Maybe if everyone followed the rules none of this would happen.

Put downs are a big problem on PMC. Trolling, flaming, being rude and making abusive comments. Io m not really going to go into trolling and flaming, but they are still considered as put downs. When you troll, youo re trying to hurt someoneo s feelings for fun. Anyways, rudeness. No one wants to see a rude comment left on their new submission, ito s like someone throwing a bucket of water onto a fire. You suddenly start to dislike your submission that you were once proud of. You also feel bad because this person has hurt your feelings. Does anyone gain anything from this? No. Well, maybe the person who posted the rude comment, because their whole mission was to hurt your feelings. I mainly see this on skins that have made it to the front page reel. The skins sometimes areno t the best, but they are still alright. I love to see new/lower leveled members on the reel. It makes people feel good about their selves and also gain more subscribers. But it pains me to see that in the comments there are people saying things like o how did this get on the reel?o , o this sucks!o , o omg I could do better than that.o Those areno t nice things to say at all. People should be encouraging others and giving them pointers. I just hate to see our community like thiso ¦

Io m pretty sure Io ve covered this before in a past rant, but I feel the need to say something again. Higher levels abusing lower levels. This is just ridiculous. I always see higher levels being mean in comment threads and sometimes chat. They could be making fun of them, acting like they know everything, calling them rude names and more. Now, not at any point is this acceptable. The rules apply to everyone on the site, even the people over level 40. Io m not going to list any names, but I have seen one member doing things like this multiple times. Io ve also seen various other members do it occasionally. I dono t like to see behavior like this, it sets a bad example for lower levels and gives the site a bad reputation. I wish these kinds of things would stop, ito s just depressing to see behavior like that.

Most people also judge others based on their level. I was in chat one time and the issue of levels came up. One of the members in chat mentioned that they do not trust level 1s. That is utter bullsheet. You should never judge someone based on what level they are. I get a good amount of respect just because Io m a high level, but that means nothing to me. Ito s just devastating to see that people judge others based on their level. We all started as level 1 (besides the people who were here before levels were implemented), so show respect to them. Would you like being judged just because of your level?

Like every other problem, there is a solution or two. There are some things we can do/that exist to help stop this. There is a rule for respect on this site. It is rule 6, and specifically states that there should be no judging of others, condemn, or make fun of other members. It states o All posters must refrain from making comments that could ordinarily be construed as sexist, homophobic, ethnocentric, racist, or significantly demeaning any individual or group on the basis of disability, age, political inclinations or religion.o So that means that there should be none of this behavior, but it still happens. Not everyone follows the rules, and not everyone will. Unfortunately. One thing you could do instead of putting others down would be giving constructive criticism. So, if you see a skin that isno t the best, and youo re thinking about posting a comment that says o this sucks!o , dono t do it. Instead you could post some constructive criticism, and give them some advice. Isno t that much more nicer than starting a flame war or hurting someoneo s feelings? You also have to remember that not everyone is the best at some things. Not everyone is a good as building as you, and not everyone is as good at modding as you. Everyone is different, and you have to remember that. I do recall a saying that my parents used to say when I was little. They used to say o if you dono t have anything nice to say, dono t say it at all.o I used to think that saying was stupid at the time, but honestly, ito s right. Why do you need to share your hate on something with the creator? You know it will just hurt their feelings. So, before you post a comment think to yourself o would this hurt my feelings if it was said to me?o , and if the answer is yes, dono t post the comment. Youo re doing yourself and someone else a favor. So, if we use these things, maybe we can help eliminate hate and rude comments.

Put downs are a big problem, and they always will be. But we can try and stop the bad behavior and call others out when you see them being mean, you could tell them ito s not nice and they shouldno t be saying that. Or if you are getting the comments yourself report this person to a site moderator if they keep doing it. Or you could simply delete the comment. Come on guys, leto s make this community a better place for everyone.

Trolling is for people that have a sense of humor, people can troll at work by messing with co-workers and the have a life. They are doing everyday things but they make it fun!
