Hello everyone. It's me, 11volt11. Today I would like to talk about bad submissions and the recognition they're getting. I hate when something that looks like crap or had no work put into it gets recognition.
And I know exactly why crapload submissions get so much attention. Dopey PMC wanderers who go around viewing all the crap they see, just because it says "omg teen hoodie" or "omg israphels brother zombie teen hoodie" and when they get there, they diamond people's work, thinking that complimenting and diamonding will help them to improve.
Well you know what? It doesn't. The reason is simple. When people are getting recognition and compliments anyway, why would they have any reason to improve? Same thing with socialism. If people are getting money anyway, and they're not allowed to get any more, why would they try to do better at their job?
And another thing I hate is when something doesn't have any pictures and then people diamond and say stuff like "can't wait for it to be done!" There is nothing wrong with comments like that, but don't give it a reward. What are you diamonding if you can't even see it? See my logic? You would be diamonding something that doesn't exist.
And yet another thing I hate is when people make the reel just because they're popular. For heaven's sake, DinowCookie has two things on the reel at the time of writing this! And jgsampso always has something on the reel. Not that they bother me, because I like a whole bunch of the stuff those two make. (Sorry for putting you on the spot!) But I really hate it when crap gets attention just because the uploader is popular.
I think the rule of thumb (for me at least) is that you shouldn't diamond a submission just because of it being by someone popular, or if it has "promise." Give diamonds to things you like, things that you can see with your own eyes, and things that are good. You are helping no one by giving a diamond to someone who you think can "improve".
Don't let the concept of quality die, fellows.
