you know what I hate?
people using shader mods to make their texturepacks look a lot better than they actually are. people think, "wow, that texture pack has really good shading!" or "wow, that texture pack is very bright!" when it ISN'T!!!!
It's almost as bad as not actually having any pictures of the texturepack!
people also only add pictures of mountains or big builds so you can't actually see the textures, (and see how bad they are)
and that is my rant. although, there ARE a lot of simple texturepacks that look good anyway, such as squareswept, OCD pack and many more.
(the texture pack that I used in the picture wasn't a very good example...)

FINALLY somebody who realises that people do this to get better rating on their resourcepacks! (I know it was 3 years ago, but still)
I don't care about when servers or builds do it, because that's not meant to focus on the textures itself!
There's this chick called Noxie.
She has posted a resourcepack called "Realism - Fantasia 256x" http://www.planetminecraft.com/texture_pack/fantasia-256-x-256/
To
be honest, it's one of those stereotypical packs that claims to be
real-looking, but the high resolutions and bad smoothing makes it look
very boring and grid-like! However, she uses shaders in the screenshots,
and that makes hundreds of people go bananas and comment stuff like: "OMG, so real-looking!" "Great lighting, best pack ever!"
She even typed in the description: "Recommended to use with shaders"...
NO SHIT, is there any pack that does not look better with shaders?
And
she says that because she knows that the pack itself is pretty bad.
Another funny thing is that she constantly removes my comments, because
I'm asking about why she intends on using shaders and so on.
Now she's even blocked me, which is hilarious! She can't take criticism at all...
