So as of now, azalea trees just use boring and plain oak logs, wich cause many people to complain about it to the developers, gaining back just their silence rather than proper answers for wether azalea wood would be a thing or not. At this point, I'm almost sure that the developers didn't change their mind about it, wich caused me to make this post. Here, I will propose several reasons for why azalea wood should be a thing:
1. Azalea trees using oak logs makes oak trees less unique.
2. If you have a azalea tree farm you'll no longer need oak saplings to get oak wood.
3. Azalea trees using oak logs as their trunk does not feel vanilla at all. It looks more like these farming mods wich reuse oak logs as the trunk of a fruit tree, for example.
4. In an ambient with many oak trees, a azalea tree may be passed undetected because of their trunk.
5. If you remove the flowers of a azalea tree, it looks like a oak tree.
6. Because of they using oak logs, people might think that azalea trees are related to oaks.
7. Minecraft is a fiction-based game, so realism shouldn't be considered for wether azalea wood should or not be a thing.
8. If you are speaking of color, just look to acacia and spruce planks: their colors are not accurate to real life. Acacia wood isn't orange, and spruce wood isn't brown; in fact, they mostly resemble oak wood in real life.
9. It will make players and community happier with the update.
10. It will stop complains on social media about adding azalea wood; and lastly:
11. Azalea trees are a fictional species. In real life, they are just bushes and nothing more. So with the concept of a real life bush as a fictitious tree, a wood type for it should come in mind as well.
So... just add azalea wood, Mojang. That's it.
