The construction Handbook was good. It was mostly showing snapshots of fyreUK's creations and giving you tips about how to make massive structures. I read the whole book in about 15 minutes and I tried to make a massive bridge on my own. It took me about 2 hours to make any progress although it did look nice with some of the techniques from the book. 

The essential handbook was somewhat helpfull. I did learn a few facts I didn't know before. Although, most of the book was stuff you probably already know, like to create a shelter before night, to light up caves while mining, to never dig straight downward, and more. I did like the small interview with Notch and Jeb at the end of the book. 

I know the redstone handbook is already out but I did not take much interest in it. It looked somewhat confusing and did not seem to include much useful information. This is a good series of books but I would prefer them to be longer and with more words instead of pictures.

The Combat Handbook was ok, but still not as good as it could have been. Only somebody who has never heard of Minecraft wouldn't know most of the info in this and all the other handbooks. It's like a noob wrote them all. And if you want to get one of them but you don't know which one, I would recommend the essential handbook. It has info about everything and I learned a few things I didn't know from it. Although, I was kind of a noob when I first read it.

So,
This 4-book handbook series is best for a noob and if you know someone who just started playing Minecraft, I would recommend getting these books for them. The books, although, are very short and many pages have one big picture with a few words on it. For more experienced players, you'll probably know everything in all the books so I would recommend a different series.
