My server (Found HERE) has been up for nearly a year now, and sometimes I wonder how well I manage the server and my devoted players. As a hardcore RP server, it is tough to balance between PvP, PvE, and RP, especially if the players prefer one over the other. The other day, though, I decided to create a massive "invasion" of the Roman World. One of my great players, TehPie, decided to record the event, and I must say, it came out really good!
So, here is his video in all its glory - none of this was scripted.. I hurled as many mobs as I could at them, as well as posed as a "cyclops" miniboss to tear up their defenses, and then the "final boss", the Horde Commander, who was a heavily armored Enderman. The actions of the "Horde" in any event like this can cause major problems for players if they just ignore it, such as the destruction of towns or property. The players, of course, rise up to make sure that doesn't happen. And I must say, I don't go easy on them - they almost lost a few times.
The story for this battles goes something like this:
Legio Augusta had been cut off from the mainland for several days, threatened by the vicious Horde Commander of Pluto's Navy. Expecting a naval attack on their port, the Legion prepared itself for invasion. To their surprise, much of the Horde lifted itself out of the water, including their navy - flying demonic triremes with bat-like wings. Valiantly, the small Legion stood up against the overwhelming enemy...
