Story:
Steve. Such an interesting name for such an interesting person. Steve was born on May 17, 1991. He led a normal life, went to school, made a few friends, and had a variety of hobbies. One of his favorite hobbies was playing video games. When he was young, he loved to hide away in his room and play video games for hours on end. His parents did not approve of this behavior and forced Steve to get out of his room and focus on school. His parents often forgot about Steve and usually neglected him. Even so, Steve would always find time to spend on his computer, doing what he loved.
Steve had only one other sibling, he was an older brother who went by the name of Herbert. Herbert had always loved to push Steve around. Whatever Steve did, Herbert made fun of him and always got away with it. Steve would sometimes try to become better friends with Herbert by inviting him to play a video game with Steve. Herbert would laugh at Steve, but still play the game. In all of these instances, Herbert would crush Steve's competition and beat him at any game they would play. But Steve was persistent and always tried to find a game he was better than Herbert at.
On Steve's eighteenth birthday (May 17, 2009), he asked his parents if they had a present for him. Of course, neither of them had remembered his birthday and both of them shook their heads at Steve disapprovingly. That night, Steve lay in his bed wondering what he would do with his life. He barely had any friends at his school, his family hated him, and the only thing he liked doing was video games. He was trying to fall asleep, but he had too much on his mind. He slowly got out of bed and looked at his clock. It was already six in the morning. In a couple hours he would have to go to school again. He decided to give up on sleep and put on his usual school clothes: A light blue short sleeved T-Shirt, jeans, and dark gray shoes. He quietly sneaked out of the house trying not to wake up any of his family members. He made it outside and slowly closed the front door behind him. Steve took in a breath of the fresh morning air and started walking down his street with hands in pockets. He looked up at the early morning sky and saw a white spark flash across the sky. It was a shooting star. He heard about people making wishes after they saw one and decided to try it. "I wish I could play video games... alone!" He yelled into the night sky. Suddenly a blinding light took over him; he staggered backwards and covered his face with his arms. Everything went dark.
When Steve regained consciousness, he felt strange. He felt stiff and restricted as he slowly stood up and looked around. Everything seemed so different, he was standing on what looked like sand, but it was all pixely and flat. He looked around even more and saw that everything seemed to be pixely and flat like the sand. Steve looked down at his hands and jumped back in fear. His hands had turned into flat cubes along with his feet. He started panicking, was this just a dream? Where was he? Was he even on earth? Was he in the same universe? As all these questions rattled off in Steve's head, he remembered the wish he made on that shooting star. He came to the sudden realization that he was playing a video game... alone. Steve smiled and took in where he was going to be living for the rest of his life. He walked up to a tree and hit it with his fist. A flat cube of wood popped out into Steve's hand. He laughed, realizing this was what he had wanted all along. To be alone, to do whatever he wanted... forever.
Extras:
Steve was born on May 17, 1991. This is exactly 18 years before Minecraft was officially released to the public. Making his eighteenth birthday very significant to the creation of Minecraft.
Steve's brother Herbert was always better than him, bullying him around and beating him at anything he did. Herbert is Herobrine. Herobrine has godly powers in Minecraft and actually exists. He waits for the perfect time to strike Steve, yet we haven't seen it yet.
Steve was never very social, only making few friends, and not really liking anyone that he talked with. When he was transferred to the Minecraft world, he was alone, the way he wanted.
Steve never ages or grows. He wished to play video games forever, and aging would not allow this wish to come true.
