Season 1.5: The Time Machine
Chapter 21: Track No.8 "Wait"
The dragon woke up on an another snowy planet, now entirely rocky and barren. It seemed like no one was here... Until the only inhabitant of this place appeared. It was a giant golem with no nose, which was never planned for this model. No holes in the way where it's supposed to be, just nothing. It was made of diorite, teracotta and some blue transparent material that was either stained glass or ice. It seemed mute, but understood Ender language. It followed Sparks very slowly, and when they found the lost redstone, the machine picked it up, gave it to E.S. with a look that said "Is this yours? It appeared out of thin air, and so did you.". When the sun dot started to set, the golem sat down, and when Ender joined, he spoke for the first and last time:
- (Permafrost Golem) Y'know, you have arrived at a perfect time. I do not remember my past. I do not really know who I am. All I remember was that they left me on this small snowy rock and told me to guard it. Years, centuries, millenia flew by, but nothing came. One day, I started to feel weak - my power was low, and my wait was coming to an end. It is possible they just left me and I should move on. But what would I do with no materials and power so low? Now you ask, where are we now? At the edge of space as I know it, on a faraway snowy globe. How did we even get the snow on these? That doesn't matter, what does is the reason for me thinking this time is perfect - I wanted to spend my last moments with someone. Even though you are a strange stranger that probably shouldn't be here. My last words, last words in the sunset... I just wanted to say... Thank you...
When the sun has set completely, the golem shut down. There was nothing to do. It was even darker than in the vast void of the End, which was very surprising. After a while, Ender went to sleep. She woke up safe and sound in the Overworld, although she was so cold that a cold-blooded being of her size would sleep for a year. But the acidic fire of life did not burn out.
- Four minutes without two seconds. You can do some math by yourself, can you?
- ...Yes.
- Why are you so serious about this?
- I got the redstone. I need a small break, don't worry, now I'm as cool as ice. Heh...
