Season 1.5: The Time Machine
Chapter 22: Track No.9 "Stal"
First disc of the second bundle led to an odd place. Everything was black and white, including E.S. herself. She was in a city, but there were no people, or minecarts, or any life on the streets. There was only one place that was open, and that was a bar partially built into the ground. Inside there were various cartoony figures with rubber hose physics. None of them seemed happy, so I'll tell you a joke: A dragon walked into a bar- ok fine, it's what really happened, and asked why is everything black and white and what's happening.
- (Vintage Barkeeper) I see you are not from here. Why did you decide to visit our miserable time?
- Just discovering new times. The disc named "Stal" brought me here, and its name reminds me of steel.
- (Vintage Barkeeper) Steel? Steel indeed. War's coming. We're going to lose anyway, when you'll see Mellohi you will know how to prevent it. It's not our time to know yet - we're stuck in a looped year happening before a war.
- Can I learn a little about your world?
- (Vintage Barkeeper) Of course. The monochrome is the shadow of what's about to invade. We do not care anymore. There is no drink besides coffe, no food besides cheeseburgers. Sad times, y'know.
- Sad times indeed. Where do you store coffee?
- (Vintage Barkeeper) A bit glad you asked. In the basement, there are large containers. Jump in one and you'll get back home. Weird, I know. Good luck in preventing a catastrophe, dragon.
The journey to the basement was long - it resided at the border of crust and mantle, allowing the coffee to be always hot. One of the containers was open. The only way out was jumping in. Ender jumped out of the capsule back into the Overworld back in her time and space;
- Huh? Why did you jump your way here? And why do you smell like coffee?
- I swear it was the ONLY way to get out, I'd not recommend going here without a heat resistant suit.
- Jazz is hot?
- No, it's for the exit. I'd want to go to Mellohi now. Even though it's my least favourite dość, I have a feeling that it's important. And for how long was I absent?
- Exactly two and a half minutes. You can do math.
