Season 1.5: The Time Machine
Chapter 23: Track No.10 "Mellohi"
The last disc was named "Mellohi". It was Ender's least favourite disc and she never planned to visit its time-space coordinates in the first place, yet she was now hastily inserting the disc into the recalibrated music box and entering the capsule.
The world was odd. It was horribly ruined ruins on a tomb world similar to the globe where Mono has died. Ender was hardly able to breathe because of how toxic was the air. It had an eerie atmosphere, which was a pinch of disgust and rage that fell into a big load of terror. There was only one thing interesting in the world - a grayish red cybernetic creature sitting near a campfire. When it saw E.S., it spoke:
- (Ill Cybernetic Alien) Oh, I cannot believe it, do my eyes decieve me, it's The One Who Could've Prevented!
- The... Who? And prevented what?
- (Ill Cybernetic Alien) I am not angry. In fact, I am very happy to see how you would look like with all the flesh and time.
- Flesh? Time? What happened here?
- (Ill Cybernetic Alien) You do come from the past, don't you? You still don't know this could be the future.
- Why are you speaking in riddles? Why that buildup?
- (Ill Cybernetic Alien) You see, Wither Sparx had her life taken away as a child. It took Lord Wither centuries to separate flesh from the skeleton that should be withered amd to torture the soul that was dreaming inside. These times created the withered skeletal dragon elite agent we know and despise today. The day she saw the sunlight for the first time was the first day of the catastrophe that's still happening, now contaminating one entire arm of the galaxy. The planet we're on... It's the colony I lived in since I can remember. Even our ancient empire, who wanted to stop the foe and keep the core safe from dangers, is now barely holding into the few system near the center. And now look, it's all devastated, and that's only the first step.
- *long period of silence* ...I already see some ships, is that bad?
- (Ill Cybernetic Alien) Very, very. If you get killed, you stay here and make our miserable lives even worse. But before you go sit in my campfire to depart, I need to tell you how to stop all of this.
- What about you? Don't you also try to save yourself?
- (Ill Cybernetic Alien) There's no need to. Even if they won't find me, I'd join them sooner or later because of my illness. I would be vivid red if I were healthy. But you can save me, yourself, and the entire Universe: You need to be a step further than him. You need to get to the root of the problem.
And in the first time in her life, she understood an idiom by herself. Years of studying humans have finally given results when it was needed the most. To the root of the problem. She knew where to go. Not even giving any reports or listening to the absence time (1 minute 36 seconds), took out the disc and time-traveled normally.
