Season 1.5: The Time Machine
Chapter 24: Childhood fever dream
To the root of the problem. Back to the place where obsidian pillars are impaled, rooting themselves into the yellow rock. Where the eternal fountain is the only way out, or at least the oldest and most reliable of them all. Back at home, not mine of course, her. Here it is: the end of what her mind could imagine. End. Her home. She is literally named after it. But it was not only the space that was important, but also time. Back when she was barely walking on two legs, and didn't understand English, or any other language than Ender, also called Enderian, Ender Dialect, Enderish, etc. We do not care that much. We help, but we won't make it a dream. This is it, the final challenge for today.
A young dragon hatchling is crawling on the main End island during a period of time that was corresponding to "a beautiful sunny day" in the Overworld. A few chorus plants are starting to grow, and growth of some was ended due to the young dragon's hunger. She was playing with random obsidian and endstone pebbles, mimicking some of the younger Endermen who visited the main island. Little did the hatchling know, a grayish vehicle appeared behind one of the pillars. No living being other than the baby dragon was on the island. Yeah, living, about that... A black skeleton with a crown went out of the machine. This undead scoundrel lurked behind the tower, then the fountain, preparing to make a slash that would end all his miseries. All seemed to be lost. Poor thing would never know...
*CLANK*
- I will NOT let you change the past for the worse!
- You mess in the timeline a lot too. These expeditions were supposed to be chill and casual, not rushed. Have I overheard it right?
- I tried my best for YEARS to fit into the human society, and it barely worked. The Professor is the only one who stopped me from killing you, for good.
- You do realize that you're making a time loop by ruining my plans?
- Eh, this is much better than being an undead slave.
- Look at us. Two oddballs. Why fight, when you can join me here and finish this war between the Endfolk and Withered Undead once and for all?
- I won't... Because it's not a right thing to do. It sounds bad, of course, but I feel deep in my heart that is not good for me, and for others around us. We are seen as evil. They feared the people of the void. I still do not know why am I here now and not the dragon that was before. But if something vicious spots something even more vile than itself and fears it... That's the true evil.
With these words coming out of her mouth, Ender Sparkle pushed Wither King off of the edge of the island. The machine with a small wither skeleton squad inside was also banished into the Ender void. What falls in there, never returns. But what a disaster, the original Time Machine also ran out of fuel! But there was still one way out. It wasn't the void, which she could traverse, but some distances were still too long. The other way was the fountain, where I have waited. After quietly making sure her little self was safe, she looked around the island for one last time and jumped into the gate.
