For those of you that don't know what a shako is, well it's basically a tall cylindrical military cap, usually with a visor and normally adorned with plumes. The word shako originated from the Hungarian name csákós süveg ("peaked cap"), which was part of a uniform of the Hungarian Hussars. From 1800 onwards it became a common military headdress.
There are 3 types of shakos:
Any way, enough about shakos, the problem for me is that, to make a Napoleonic Wars based skin is hard because of the designs of their hats, if you see in my other skins i represent them with a visor, a plume and the decorative plating in front of the shako, as you can see in the picture, but making the form of other hats, for example an officers hat is a more curved hat, and therefore harder to represent.
Here is an example of shakos with different plumes to represent different classes:

The easiest way to represent them is:
I personally suggest using Nova skin editor for this since it has the 3D mode for the head.

There are 3 types of shakos:
- The "stovepipe" shako was a tall, cylindrical type with a brass badge attached to the front. The stovepipe was used by the infantry of the British army from around 1799brtdesignportfolio.com/88th/website/images/shako.
- The "Belgic" (or "Waterloo") shako officially replaced the stovepipe shako in 1812, but was not adopted completely until 1815. The black felt Belgic shako had a raised front, and was decorated with silver or gold lace for officers.

The easiest way to represent them is:
- Step 1: Draw a hat around the head (just above the eyes) and in a 3D head mode (to add hats and other head accessories) You can draw a visor just above the eyes and add a plume in the center.
- Step 2: If you want you can get decorative and draw the plume in different colours, you can also you can add the golden plate in the middle of the helmet and a lace going all the way around the shako (this is not in 3d mode).
I personally suggest using Nova skin editor for this since it has the 3D mode for the head.
