BEFORE WE BEGIN…
We had to split this blog into two parts because of how long it is. The link to part 2 is at the end of this blog. Only votes in part 2 will be counted.
For this battle, we will primarily be focusing on Shove Knight and Shantae’s standard games and allowing them to have anything they can realistically use within those games. However, we never technically put a rule against looking into crossovers, so don’t be surprised if those pop up.
NOTE: Keep in mind that The Last Kirbalorian and Kiryutojo were only given a week to research these characters, so don’t be surprised if some of the information presented isn’t 100% correct.
NOTE: It’s important to note that it is the debater’s job to argue and advocate for the character they were assigned to. Their arguments within this blog don’t necessarily reflect their real opinions on the matter.
NOTE: All of the calculations and A LOT of the info here was taken from the G1 Blog, so credit to them for that. π
NOTE: We know the blog doesn’t say it, but The Last Kirbalorian did collaborate with us to make this. (we couldn’t invite him for some reason)
WHY THIS MATCHUP?
Sithfruit made a post explaining all the connections he could find between Shovel Knight and Shantae. Here it is!
Similarities:
• Both are protagonists of indie side-scrolling platformers.
• Both possess optimistic personalities.
• Both come from games that involve treasure-themed elements.
• Both have an unexpected/unusual way of fighting. (Shovel Knight uses a shovel and Shantae uses her hair)
• Both despise evil and are extremely determined to stop it in order to save their friends, regardless of the foes who stand in their way.
• Both have recurring arch-nemeses or rivals whom they try to save, despite those rivals continuing to cause trouble. (Black Knight and Risky Boots)
• Both have fought powerful and magical beings who transform into massive forms as their final boss stages. (The Enchantress and the Empress Siren)
• Both have access to a wide variety of costumes, weapons, and powers that can be unlocked over time.
• Both are associated with a group of powerful warriors dedicated to fighting evil and protecting the innocent. (The Code of Shovelry and the Guardian Genies)
Main Contrast:
While both characters are heroic, Shovel Knight is a noble knight adventurer, whereas Shantae is a half-genie hero. As a result, Shovel Knight tends to be more serious and stern due to his code of honor, while Shantae is generally more optimistic and energetic, influenced by her background as a half-genie and a belly dancer. She also tends to be more shy and emotional compared to Shovel Knight’s more stoic demeanor.
NOTE: This isn’t to say that Shovel Knight has never been optimistic or that Shantae has never shown seriousness—both have displayed seriousness and optimism at different points throughout their respective adventures.
We ask you to vote based on the info given and not on your personal bias! The researchers put a lot of work and effort into this, so we would highly appreciate it if you read before voting!

_____________________________________________
SKILL & EXPERIENCE
• ο»ΏShovel Knight in his past has trained for years in his shovelry skills as well as having gone on hundreds of adventures.
• He fought a large plethora of enemies, such as smaller creatures like slime monsters, bug monsters, and large creatures like griffins or dragons that are much bigger than him.
• He has fought and defeated Black Knight as well as all the "Order of no Quarter" members, including King Knight, Specter Knight, Plague Knight, Treasure Knight, Mole Knight, Tinker Knight, Propeller Knight, and Polar Knight. And then he does it again at the end of his game in one sitting before fighting the Enchantress. And I would like to mention that all of these knights have been training for longer than shovel knight, and yet he can beat all of them back to back.
• Fought and defeated the God of War, who has been fighting for a thousand years against the gods of Greek and Norse mythology.
ARSENAL & ABILITIES
SHOVEL BLADE

Shovel Knight uses a shovel as his main weapon, (As I would assume most could pick-up on) which is typically used for attacks like swinging at and jumping on his enemies.
• It being a shovel means it can also dig, as well as Shovel Knight being able to use his shovel like a pogo stick to dig downwards. This move can also be used on enemies as well as being able to chain the attacks together gaining more power with each strike.
• By swinging his shovel at the right time, it can deflect most projectiles, including blasts from the Enchantress.

Shovel Knight also upgraded his shovel to use abilities such as…
• Drop Spark
When at full health he can strike the ground sending a spark forward to attack his enemies.
• Charge Handle
Charging an attack that's double the power it usually is, bypassing any type of shielding his enemy might have, though it slows him down and makes him enable to jump while charging the attack.
ARMORS

Stalwart Plate: His normal armor.
Final Guard: A set of red armor that reduces the amount of money lost on death. (Though I doubt that will come in handy here for multiple reasons)
Conjurer's Coat: A purple armor set that allows him to have a higher magic cap, as well as rewarding more magic for every enemy he defeats, at the cost of defense decreasing it by double.
Dynamo Mail: A silver armor set that allows him to charge a powerful slash after using his shovel drop move twice. Though unlike his Charge Handle move, this does not effect him negatively.
Mail of Momentum: A black armor set that reduces knockback from enemies, as well as reducing his friction on the ground (I honestly don't see how those work together).
Ornate Plate: A gold armor set that literally serves no purpose other than aura farming, simply making his jumps flashy.
Armor of Chaos: A red and grey armor set that supposedly resemble "God Slayer" (aka Kratos)
• This armor allows his shovel to do multi-hitting combos as well as further attack range. All of his attacks have a fire on them. His Shovel Drop (The pogo stick move) is also more powerful. When he uses his attacks in the air his airtime is increased. And killing enemies can drop Red Orbs, which give him a ranged attack of fire.
Toad Gear: A green armor set that increases his speed as well as increasing the power on his Shovel Drop. It also allows him to use his helmet horns to ram into you like a bull.
Streamline Mail: A grey armor set that grants him a free accessory at the start of every stage. (I don't know how this would help him unless he came into battle wearing this)
Ballistic Armor: A dark Teal armor set that allows him to basically turn into Samus and roll up into a ball and plow through the earth.
Brash Bracers: Another red armor set that increases his striking power but lowers his max health.
Combo Cuirass: A pink armor set that increases the drop rate of gold upon killing enemies and digging dirt.
Baron Suit: Yet another aesthetic armor set, that only makes his shovel blade bigger, but doesn't even give him any buffs with range or something.
Pandemonium Plate: A blue and grey armor set that simply allows him to change into any armor set at the start of any fight. (Basically allowing him to choose which armor set he wants to use to fight Shantae)
RELICS

Shovel Knight can also find things called Relics around his games that have special properties. These include a plethora of special and unique items, such as…

Fire Wand: Can shoot up to two fireballs straight ahead.
Phase Locket: Makes him intangible to all damage for a few seconds, allowing him to cross spikes that would normally kill him.
Dust Knuckles: Gauntlets that allow him to punch enemies or dirt patches. Punching an enemy allows him to stay in the air and combo the enemy until he misses a punch and falls back down. This also applies to dirt patches like in Shovel Knight Dig.
Chaos Sphere: Throws up to two green magical spheres that can travel through air and bounce around walls and damage enemies. If you throw two, they are connected together by a chain of sorts.
Propellor Dagger: A dagger you can use to briefly fly through the air using the dagger as a propeller, also damaging enemies in his path.
Alchemy Coin: A coin he can throw on the ground that turns enemies into coins. Or if they can resist it, it just does damage, like to the first dragon boss fight.
Fishing Rod: It is a fishing rod that he can throw out while stationary that deals damage.
Throwing Anchor: He can throw up to two anchors that form an arc shape above him, damaging any enemies in its path.
Mobile Gear: Makes a small platform he can stand on to travel across spikes and jump gaps. It can also hurt enemies.
War Horn: A horn he can blow into which sends out sound waves around him that damage enemies in its range and breaks dirt patches. They are the same amount of power as his normal attacks.
Troupple Chalices: Chalices that contain Ichor from the Troupple King. Each chalice is a one time use and all three have different effects like…
• Ichor of Renewal: Restores his health and magic back to full.
• Ichor of Boldness: Gives Shovel Knight invincibility for 10 seconds.
• Ichor of Fortune: For 60 second gold is attracted to him like a magnet.
Flareo Wand: A variation of the Flare Wand which spawns a clustered explosion directly in front of Shovel Knight.
Bait Bomb: A bomb that moves forward and explodes upon contact with an enemy. Previously Plague Knights.
Tow Anchor: A version of the Throwing anchor that throws a an Anchor into the air that he holds onto and goes in an arch shape to hit enemies.
Infinidagger: It is just a version of the Propeller Dagger but it moves endlessly until hitting an enemy or wall.
Rising Dagger: Another version of the Propeller Dagger that moves vertically instead of horizontally.
Ghost Glove: An item that looks much like the Dust Gloves that shoots out ghostly projectiles that move much faster than the Flare wand projectiles.
Buzzsaw Boomerang: Basically just a boomerang that damages enemies. It goes straight forwards before curving upwards back towards its starting point.
Fleet Flask: A drink originally belonging to Plague Knight, that makes the enemy go forward until they either hit a wall, turn around, or use their weapon, dealing damage to anything.
Shadow Knight: Creates a clone of himself that mics his attacks and movements, as well as being invulnerable. Though it costs one magic for every second it is in use.
Flameo Wand: A wand he can use to shoot fireballs that bounce off walls damaging the enemy. They extinguish in water.
Throwing Trowel: A trowel he can throw that bounces around hitting the enemy.
Reverse Exa: An axe that moves in a vertically flipped arc.
Blizzeo Wand: A wand that can shoot projectiles freezing an enemy. He can either break the ice, or use it to set up a better attack.
Gusteo Wand: A wand that shoots a small tornado that clings to surfaces after being used, chasing down most enemies.
Morph Lance: A lance that gives shovel knight a longer range. It gets more powerful the more hits you get. Though I think it caps at 5.
Mobile Gear Drill: Just the Mobile Gear but it has a drill letting you dig into the ground underneath you.
Coffer of Safekeeping: It is a relic that Shovel Knight can hide himself in negating any and all damage. Of course the downside is he can't fight while in it.
Bubble Frog: He can use this to go inside a bubble and float around like a Tadfloat, but if he gets hit the bubble pops. Though he can use his shovel to pop the bubble and gain more height.
Shadow Locket: It summons a clone of him that can go through walls and damage enemies upon contact. Once it expires Shovel Knight gets teleported to the clone.
POCKET DUNGEON RELICS

These items are from a game called Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeons. I am mentioning this because it functions more like Candy Crush or Tetris than other shovel Knight Games.
In Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon, Shovel Knight also has different types of relics that give him effects permanently. They are only removed upon death.
Diamond Dust: He can sprinkle this to give his weapons better damage and durability.
Obsidian Drill: A drill that can more easily break all blocks, including the bomb blocks which are usually indestructible until explosion.
Shockproof Socks: Shovel Knight can wear these socks, and he can then ignore electric damage, and static will build up on the bottom of his socks to do double damage in 10 steps/moves or attacks.
Fizzle Wand: It is a broken Flare wand that leaves a trail of fire where he walks.
Bomb Seed Bag: Shovel Knight becomes immune to any type of explosion (Including Black Knight’s meteors), as well as causing more explosives to spawn in the area.
Nimbus Balloon: A balloon that will automatically make Shovel Knight hover over hazards for the remainder of his quest, like poison, lava, ice, spikes, and water.
Potion Napkin: This lets Shovel Knight use potions in this game individually instead of all at once. (I am including this because I don't believe any other Shovel Knight game has potions. So if in the fight his potions were here too, this would be helpful)
Dynamallet: Causes chains of enemies to explode upon defeating one, and can be recharged by opening treasure chests.
Desperation Talon: Killing an enemy when Shovel Knight is at 1 HP increases his HP by 2.
Swift Dagger: The first attack with this weapon does double damage.
Third Amulet: If Shovel Knight hits the same enemy three times in a row, the third hit will do double damage.
Single Glove: If an enemy is not part of a group it does double damage.
Five String: Doubles the damage of each fifth hit, regardless of if it's the same enemy.
Fenix Feather: After dying, Shovel Knight gets revived as all the enemies on screen disappear, though this only works once and can't be replicated if he finds another feather.
Chronos Glass: Freezes time for 16 seconds/turns, either at the start of a round, when Shovel Knight enters a new room, or when the room is about to be filled.
Too Big Bomb: This turns all bombs pink, doubling their damage and range.
Toad Totem: This adds a poison effect to all of his attacks, as well as making him immune to poison.
Fury Horns: These horns let Shovel Knight hit twice as hard as usual, after fatal blows to chains.
Zesty Slice: Increases the potency of health potions’ healing.
Super Skeleton Key: A key that unlocks any lock, as well as causing any keys found to explode enemies.
Ram Rod: Allows Shovel Knight to ram into enemies for double damage.
Conjuring Cupcake: A magical cupcake that will makes some dirt blocks turn into cake, and can be eaten for extra health.
Underdog Collar: This makes him deal double damage when surrounded on all sides.
Coin Of Carnage: He flips a coin at the chance to deal double damage.
Coin Of Cover: He flips a coin to potentially block all damage from an attack.
POCKET DUNGEON ITEMS

Spear: A longer ranged weapon that can pierce shields otherwise impenetrable, as well as being able to stab through multiple enemies (20 uses before initially).
Shield: A shield that blocks one point of damage, though you can add them together to increase that. (12 uses before initially).
Ice Axe: Hitting an enemy with this causes them to freeze for a bit. (10 uses before initially).
Flame Axe: Using this ignites the ground an enemy is standing on after getting hit, if they don't move away from that spot immediately, and does extra damage. (16 uses initially).
Wood Blade: When attacking an enemy this does +1 damage. (20 uses initially)
Steel Blade: Works the same as the previous one but does +2 on attack. (20 uses initially).
Hero Blade: Again, same as previous but it does +3 damage on attack. (20 uses initially).
Chronos Coin: Stops time for ten turns. Obviously there aren't turns in this battle, but in Specter Of Torment, it will instead slow down time for 10 seconds if fully upgraded.
Wildcard: If he uses this on an enemy, every one of those enemies on screen gets instantly deleted. This even works on Potions and Keys. If he uses this on it they are all gone.
Smoke Bomb: He can use this to create a smoke screen around him lasting for a short time that makes him invulnerable to damage, but can still damage others.
Zap Wand: When used it shoots a beam of electricity in a straight line across the entire board, dealing five times damage. (4 uses initially).
War Horn: Makes a blast of sound around him doing triple damage.
Flood Fish: From the VS Mode, this can flood the opponent’s board/area with enemies and blocks.
Bomb Cannon: A cannon that drops bombs around the other player.
Monster Potion: This turns the other player into a monster, limiting movement or attack power depending on the transformation.
DIG ACCESORIES

In Shovel Knight DIG, he can collect items called accessories. These function similar to pocket dungeon relics, as in they are passive effects that last until he dies permanently.
Berserker Bauble: A magic bauble that lets his Shovel Blade do double the damage when he is at low health, giving him a last leg when on death’s door.
Berserker Bauble: When at low health his attacks do double damage.
Book Of Bomb: A book shape like a bomb that makes enemies drop bombs, basically sabotaging themselves.
Comet Collar: Shovel Knights knockback is increased.
Dynamo Greaves: With these performing 2 consecutive Shovel Drops gives Shovel Knight a short speed boost.
Enchanted Slamvil: A large Anvil seeks out a powerful enemy and takes some of their health before a fight.

(Which means their fight could potentially start with Shantae minding her own business when an Anvil falls on her head) π
Flameo Ring: The first defensive ring: A ring that gives him a fire immunity shield, making him immune to all fire damage. It has a short cooldown.
Bolteo Ring: This ring makes him immune to any type of electric or lightning damage.
Blast Ring: This ring makes Shovel Knight immune to all explosion damage.
Blizzeo Ring: This ring makes him immune to any type of ice/cold/freeze damage, including being frozen solid.
Gusteo Ring: His last ring, makes Shovel Knight immune to wind or tornado damage.
Leaping Plume: An arrow shaped feather letting Shovel Knight jump higher.
Lucky Magic Vial: This gives Shovel Knight a chance to spawn a jar to refill his magic supply when he uses a relic, giving him even less to worry about in terms of magic supply.
Platter Charm: Using this causes more food to spawn, and more food to spawn when killing an enemy.
Scout Boots: These increase his overall speed.
Shovel Blade Flint: This increases his range by making a spark at the end of his shovel.
Spikeproof Sabatons: Something he can add to his boots letting him walk over spikes.
Tome Of Relic Thrift: This makes Shovel Knight gain double the usage of all relics, as well as lowering the magic cost.
DIG PETS

In Shovel Knight DIG Shovel Knight can find eggs, when he brings them to a specific room, he can hatch them into pets that follow him around and give him benefits so long as they are alive. They also only take damage by Shovel Knight taking damage.
Blorbs

• Small blue slimes that can attack enemies and bounce around.
Fairies

• These flying balls of fur that take little chomps out of enemies.
Griffoths

• Baby griffins that fly around you and shoot fireballs at enemies.
Troupples

• Fish that fly around Shovel Knight that give him kisses to heal him, but disappear after the third kiss.
DIG FOOD ITEMS

He can also find food items around that he can consume to gain health.
Red Chalice: Increases Shovel Knight’s maximum health by 5.
Blue Chalice: Allows Shovel Knight’s health to gradually regenerate, one HP at a time.
Fortified Roast: Shovel Knight’s health gets refilled, and he gets three shield hearts that have to break before he can get damaged. They can also stack to add more.
Overstuffin’ Muffin: After eating this, every consumable he eats increases his maximum health by 1.
Magic Borscht: If Shovel Knight takes damage, he will get a magic jar to refill his magic afterwards.
Blinding Hot Curry: Shovel Knight doubles the amount of health that he has, but loses the ability to track it for the rest of the fight.
Tears of Mercy: After eating this, every time he dies, he gets revived but with -1 heart. So he will have to be killed as many times as the amount of hearts he has, but that will get easier and easier with the loss of a heart each time.
HATS

Shovel Knight also has access to every single one of Mr. Hats hats that all give different abilities, or do different things. And yes, he can wear all 92 at once, getting every single effect. Of course I will only be listing the potentially useful ones here.
Terrorpin’s Toque: Summons Terrorpin, Black Knight’s faithful steed, who spins around the area and deals damage to anything he comes into contact with. While a valuable asset, it is also one that can still damage Shovel Knight.
Snow Pelt Cap: Passively causes avalanches to appear in the area, pushing Shovel Knight back but freezing all enemies hit in place.
Turkey Torque: All potions get transformed into turkeys.
Platter Hatter: If the above hat is equipped, all turkeys get covered by plates, and revealing them will sometimes drop a bomb instead of a turkey.
Troupple Acolyte’s Hat: Increases a foe’s health by 50%, in exchange for doubling Shovel Knight’s own.
Troupple Crown: In exchange for all foes gaining 1 HP, Shovel Knight gains 5.
Taming Topper: Enemies with only 2 HP will instead be reduced to having 1 HP.
Toad Totem Topper: Allows Shovel Knight to poison foes with every hit, in exchange for giving him a permanent, albeit slower acting poison effect.
Dash Slash Cap: Gives a passive version of Specter Knight’s Dash Slash, allowing Shovel Knight to slash through a single enemy.
Bohto Boater: Increases HP by 1.
Transmuting Tammie: Passive and active items stack on top of each other after being used.
Wrathful Tyrolean: Increases attack damage by 1.
CUSTOM KNIGHT ABILITIES

As a Custom Knight Shovel Knight has abilities that can be charged up for use, without limiting his movement.
Burrow Bomber: Shovel Knight spins in the air damaging enemies he touches.
Fire Razer: Shovel Knight jumps in the air before dropping to the ground in a flaming Shovel Drop, leaving four pillars of fire around him.
Bomb Burst: He creates a small damaging explosion. If he does this while in the air it increases his air time.
Blink Flash: Shovel Knight dashes through anything leaving him unharmed. If he does this in the air it increases his air time.
OTHER ABILITIES
Different from the previous abilities, these ones are passive, and can be used independently of whatever Charge Abilities he has.
Shovel Blade Max: Allows Shovel Knight to have all of the Shovel Blade’s upgrades at once (with the exception of the Charge Handle if other Charge Abilities are active), with him losing these if he chooses a different ability.
Dash Boots: Gives Shovel Knight the same increased running ability as the Toad Gear.
Glide Cloud: Basically the same thing as the Glide Cloud Drop except he doesn't need to use Shovel Drop.
Double Jump: I think this one is pretty intuitive.
Diagonal Drop: Instead of Shovel Dropping straight down he does it at a diagonal angle.
Bounce Bomb: He has access to bombs, he can throw three at a time and they bounce around the ground before exploding shortly after, this can also be used to give him longer air time, but he can't use his shovel while doing this, except for his Shovel drop.
WATER BREATHING (FISH PHYSIOLOGY???)

He can also breath underwater infinitely. There is literally no reason for this... other than the fact that he is a fish. (Jkjk... possibly though) So I guess if Shantae turns into a frog, he can follow her into the water or something.
SHOVEL TECHNIQUES

Shovel Knight can also learn techniques for his weapons from Master Argus.
Parry: Shovel Knight uses his War Horn to parry incoming attacks. It doesn't do any damage but it negates the damage he parried. This also works on projectiles.
Glide Cloud Drop: When using his Shovel Drop move, a little cloud appears under him making him fall slowly.
Super Shovel Drop: The opposite of the previous one, making him go super fast downwards as well as doing more damage.
Charge Boomerang: He basically throws his shovel like a boomerang.
Cyclone Slash: He spins in a circle attacking anything on either side of him.
Whip Slash: He uses his Shovel Like a whip. A chain is attached to it and he pulls it back to him afterwards.
Spiral Air Slash: He spins vertically in a spiral with his shovel.
Hover Air Slash: When he attacks in the air he falls slower.
Stats & Scaling
STATS:
Physical Strength & Power

• can casually shovel through large stone blocks (Wall Level)
• (as seen above) can casually break through massive stone & dirt walls. (likely at least Small Building Level)
• kills monster several dozen times his own size.
• once dug down to the core of the earth.
• Blizzeo Wand can freeze dragons.
Speed & Reactions

• can outrun cannonballs (300-360 m/s)
• in a short period, dug down to the core of the earth.
• dodged meteors
• can move in tandem with natural lightning called from the sky. (Mach 1489)
Durability & Endurance

• constantly survives falling several hundred feet with no issue.
• can shrug off being shot through cannons, one of which sent him across the entire valley within seconds.
• can tank actual meteors from Black Knight (310.3 tons of TNT)
• can take multiple hits from Black Knight, King Knight, Treasure Knight Mole Knight, The Enchantress, The Mirror of Fate, etc.
• (as seen above) took hits from the God of War, Kratos.
SCALING:
Shield Knight

This one is obvious, as even though Shovel Knight and Shield Knight have never fought, (due to being really close partners) they fight the exact same enemies time and time again, with little to no power difference being shown between them, meaning Shovel Knight can easily scale to anything she can do.
• held back one of Drill Knight’s huge blades.
• shook an entire room during her fight in the Tower of Fate.
Black Knight

This one is also fairly obvious, as Shovel Knight consistently defeats Black Knight in pretty much every duel they ever have, which is a lot of duels. This means he would be comparable to everything Black Knight can do.
• can destroy the entire floor beneath him with a single blow.
• hit the Drill Machine so hard he broke a big stone wall and caused an explosion.
• called down six meteors at once. (1.8 Kilotons & Mach 32)
The Order of no Quarter

Shovel Knight has fought, taken hits from, and defeated every single member from the Order of no Quarter on multiple occasions. Typically, he fights them each at the end of a stage, but near the end of one of his games, he fought every single one of them in a row, without a break, and he won, meaning he should be more than comparable to every feat these characters can pull off. I will be listing their most notable feats which Shovel Knight can compare to.
Specter Knight
• can chop cannonballs in half with a single slash from his scythe.
• damages walls just by jumping off of them.
• broke the Mirror of Fate.
Plague Knight
• can use his explosives to propel himself and move in tandem with natural lightning. (Mach 133.9)
• defeated the Plague of Shadows just before it was used to destroy the Tower of Fate.
• Plague Knight himself claims that he could blow up an entire castle.
King Knight
• held up an entire house with Mr. Hat on top.
• can shake entire castles and towers with his bash.
• Dodged lasers.
• moved as quick as light from light orbs. (possibly 65.2% SoL)
Treasure Knight
• punched a gold floor hard enough to erupt ripples of gold coins.
• physically took down a giant angler fish.
Propeller Knight
• survived an exploding platform
Mole Knight
• tunnels through dirt hard enough to shake the debris above him.
Tinker Knight
• tanked his massive mech being destroyed
• his machine is strong enough to cause earthquakes and make lava tsunamis.
Polar Knight
• shook the ground hard enough to make icicles fall.
• tossed around large stone blocks with ease.
The Enchantress

Even if he needed bit of help from Shield Knight on occasion, Shovel Knight has proven a plethora of times that he is capable of beating The Enchantress. He can consistently withstand and tank her magic attacks, as well as being able to damage those who can tank them as well, including The Enchantress herself. Given all of this, (plus the consistency of non magic user being capable of performing castle-shaking/destroying feats with just their own physical strength) it’s fairly consistent and reasonable that Shovel Knight should scale to all of The Enchantress’ best feats.
• empowered Puzzle Knight to his Master Mind form which (upon being defeated) resulted in the entire collapse of the Pocket Dungeon.
• superior mage to the hedge farmer whose magic could grown an entire beanstalk in a short timeframe. (8.79 — 16.71 Kilotons of TNT)
• considered to be the most powerful foe in the entire Shovel Knight Universe, meaning she should be superior to Drill Knight’s Castle, which can cause an earthquake cross the entire valley. (2.1 — 68.6 Gigatons of TNT)
• with her magic, moved the entire Tower of Fate from the core of the planet to its surface at high speeds. (1.3 Gigatons of TNT & Mach 309.6)
• Is said to be a more powerful entity than the Mirror of Fate.
The Mirror of Fate

This terrifying abomination of an entity once created an entire dimension which it used trap Shovel Knight (along with many others) As for how Shovel Knight can scale to it, it’s similar to how he scales to The Enchantress. Shovel Knight and many others were able to defeat this entity. Furthermore, Shovel Knight being capable to defeating The Enchantress, who is said to be even more powerful with her magic than the Mirror of Fate, solidifies this scaling.
• The Mirror of Fate recreated and contained the entire valley, and upon its destruction, destroyed all of the Recreated Valley. (at least 24.3 Gigatons of TNT)
Kratos (DEBATABLE)

In the PlayStation version of Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope, Shovel Knight took on and defeated the God of War himself, Kratos. [NOTE: This is supposedly Kratos between GoW 3 and 4]
• Kratos has killed many MANY gods, including…
Megaera
Tisiphone
Alecto
Persephone
Ares
Erinys
Thanatos
Athena
Poseidon
Hades
Helios
Hermes
Hephaestus
Hera
Zeus
Mimir
Baldur
Heimdall
• Kratos defeated Helios, a god who could move entire stars.
• Kratos overpowered Atlas and forced him to hold up the entire cosmos on his own.
• Kratos defeated Cronos, who overthrew the primordial that punched the entire universe into existence. (Universal)

ARSENAL & ABILITIES
HAIR WHIP

This is Shantae’s signature attack. She whips her hair at her enemies like a…whip. Funnily enough, this actually does more damage than her pistol.
PIRATE GEAR

In Shantae Risky’s Revenge, Shantae formed an alliance with Risky Boots after temporarily losing her genie powers. On her journey, she found a plethora of items from Risky’s lost arsenal.
Flintlock Pistol: Shoots at a distance. Eventually becomes just as powerful as Shantae’s hair whip attacks.

Cannon: Shantae puts a cannon below herself to shoot at enemies and propel herself into the air. She can do this a maximum of 3 times.
OUTFITS

Shantae has a wife variety of outfits, each of which give her different abilities.
Red Bedah: Shantae’s standard half-genie outfit.
Blue Bedah: Shantae’s standard outfit… but blue! (The blue variant was created as a token of gratitude from WayForward towards the fans who supported Half-Genie Hero’s Kickstarter campaign)
Dancer: This outfit increases Shanta’s magic by 2x, but makes her take double the damage.
Ninja: Increases Shantae’s speed, agility, and magic at the cost of her defense. This also gives her a short sword, shurikens, the ability to cling to walls, and allows her to turn invisible for a short-range teleport.
Officer Wagon: This outfit gives Shantae a ranged Pellet Gun, but she loses the ability to swim and crouch. (based on the Patricia Wagon from Mighty Switch Force)
Beach Day: Allows Shantae to throw beach balls at her foes and float over obstacles with bubbles, though she loses defense. She also needs sunscreen in order to stay alive… okay π
Jammies: Yep! Saved the best for last! This outfit replaces Shantae’s signature attack with an attack from a pillow which is slower, but surprisingly stronger. Though this outfit lowers her defense, it gives her a Dream Cloud, which she can use to slowly float upwards, and Wooly Manifestation, a magic attack that lets her summon sheep that bounce around and attack enemies.

GENIE DANCE

Warp: Teleports Shantae to areas she has previously visited.
Revive: Refills a bit of health in exchange for magic.
Super Revive: Refills all health in exchange for magic.
Obliterate: Instantly deals heavy damage to every enemy on screen.
DANCE TRANSFORMATIONS

The abilities listed above aren’t the only things Shantae can do. Another aspect she’s famed for is her ability to magically transform into different creatures and objects with her dances.

She can also perform an Elephant Stomp which lets her jump into the air and rocket straight down, smashing through any breakables in the process. CLICK HERE FOR PART 2!!!

(Universal)

• Mastered whole new movesets like her Ninja, Police Officer, Beach and Jammies costumes, all of which have different sorts of powersets.

Pirate Hat: Can be used to float and glide over hazards.
Scimitar: Risky’s blade which Shantae can use to perform a downward thrust while in the air. Can be upgraded to deal higher damage.
Risky’s Boots: Allows Shantae to build up her movements to the point of running at super speeds. These can also be used to run over large spikes.

Revive: Refills a bit of health in exchange for magic.
Super Revive: Refills all health in exchange for magic.
