Yes, I'm here! And today I will be talking about how many people act horribly around one another, on both PMC and Minecraft. Enjoy!

An Overview

Most of you would know the definition of flaming? If not, do you know the definition of cyberbullying? I assume you all do. Would you go up to someone in real life and say "You suck and you are a bad Minecraft player who is some stupid 8 year old nooby kid?" Most of you should have said no.

You wouldn't say something that mean to a stranger in real life, would you? Then why do you guys still keep saying it to people online? It is just heartbreaking to see many people get insulted for things that they usually cannot help. Think about it! Think about something bad you do/have that you have no control over eg. being a nub with a laggy PC or being aged 12-? Would you like it if I came up to you and teased you about it?

Many people have seen blogs like this, and not been influenced, but if you care to listen, and abide by PMC's rules you are already doing a really great favour for not only yourself but the whole Minecraft community! If you cared to respect people as you (hopefully) do in real life, all your problems will drift away rather quickly! Please read on! It is for your own benefit.

Respect N00bs/Noobs/Newbs/Nubs

I know how much you hate all kinds of n00bs, but why do you? I will start off with a noob. A noob is a person who boasts about how they are better than anybody else, but they usually are not. This is a weird one to work with, because both the noob and the bully are doing something wrong. The noob can help by not boasting, and caring to listed to how many people want to help them. If you are a noob (and can't admit it) just listen to somebody else, and you will be a non-noob player in no time! The bully can help out by not admitting that the person is a noob. You don't need to tease them either. One more thing, don't get noob confused with newb, it just makes people even more sad. Maybe trying to be friendly and teaching them some tricks may make both of your lives much, much easier!

A newb is someone who is not necessarily bad at the game, but has not been playing the target game for very long. A respectful way to put it is that a newb is a newb for no longer than 2 months, maybe less. Once they are past this deadline, don't call them 'semi-newb' either. They like to be referred to as a developing player, if they are already the best player or not. You will be surprised how quickly people learn! The newb does not need to do anything about this, they can't help it!

A nub could be either someone who sucks at a particular game because they have to (eg. Lag, Computer Problems, Cracked Minecraft) or someone who had the opportunity to learn, but never did (both according to Urban Dictionary and many other websites.) Today, I will talk about the first option. If they have a laggy computer or non-premium Minecraft, it is due to financial issues (usually.) They can't help it, so if you see someone playing MC like an inexperienced n00b, but their computer is super-laggy, don't make fun of them, instead, show them how to fix the computer. Nubs certainly don't need to be teased.

Respect Moderators

Mods are people too. People just want to be slanderous towards moderators because 2 minutes of hard work creating spam was removed. Many people run off to MCForums to defame PMC because of bad moderators. If you cared to use MCForums (horray that you don't) you will soon discover that they have a team which is a bunch of s who don't care about the fun of the community. By even posting something that somebody else said (similar) you will be on like a 10 day ban! How stupid is that!

The moderators have earned their way up to the upper levels of PMC by spending months of hard work reporting, being mature and engaging users. They didn't do this to get insulted, they did it because they want to help PMC clean up all of the spam and stolen content. Reading the site and submission rules may help you! Think about it, would you like to work your butt off geting site mod then somebody come and insult you?

Respect 'Little Kids'

Even the most respectful person on PMC would make fun of someone because they are aged 12 or below. They say something like 'Some kid decided to post a blog and spam it over PMC!' What this person is basically saying (in my opinion) is that kids usually like spamming to get themselves banned. Would a 10-12yo be that stupid? No! Remember, personality comes before age.

I see many comments on YouTube which say 'U KID U SOUND LIKE A GIRL!!! GROW UP! YOU ARE SOME 2YO WHO RELIES ON HIS MAMA TO WIPE HIS BUTT!' to male users who do not yet have a cracked voice. You have no right to tease them for something they can't help. So one of you guys come up and comment 'They can help it, they can just wait till they are a man to make YT videos.' The 'kids' have a right to be able to make YouTube videos and using their little voice. GET OVER IT!

Lets head over to the forums. Lets head into the server recruitment section. Many acceptors for these forums deny users who are under the age of 12, 13, 14, 16, 18 or 21, because they feel like it! Do they know that they are too immature? No, of course not. Every time I have seen a denial due to age, I have provided the owner with a link to Zemor's Age and Maturity blog. Test the user, don't automatically deny! Just remember, you were a little kid once.

Respect People's Hard Work

People build things on non-grief servers to show off their creativity. You come over and grief it. Think about the hard work that person may have put in, even if it was a dirt house. Don't make fun of people for dirt houses! Griefing is bullying, and bullying is not nice! If you find a grief, go tell a server staff (unless it is a raid server.)

People upload things to PMC, and put in effort because they want to show creativity. You come and make bad comments, and misreport the submission with a very tempting description to get their hard work (and xp) taken down. Would you like that happen to you? No, so respect people's hard work! Not much more for me to say on this topic, so moving on...

So this wraps up my blog. I sure hope that you realise that everybody in the Minecraft community is a role-model, setting an example of every other Minecrafter, whether on PMC or not.

Great blog! (As expected) I'm one of those people who suffer due to haters due to my voice on Youtube. Haters motivate me. I only get frustrated with them when they ruin my chances of being approved by any networks because of the dislikes. Mostly RPM. Sometimes I think they deny me because of age. :(

Thanks for this great post!

Great blog! I especially agree with the age, I just like to know if I'm working with someone 9, or someone 15 when I do that, not to judge them, it's sad that now alot of younger people are too intimidated to apply for things now.

For me, people start off with a certain level of respect. How they act determines if I lose all of it for them, or if they gain some.
Also, to be nitpicky, the whole "some kid did _______" isn't much of an argument. Anyone younger than me is still a kid. Anyone who's older than me can call me "kid". It's more of a right of passage thing, instead of an insult to the entirety that is "kid"

Good point, but what I mean is passages like this

"To stop little kids from spamming chat"

Why kids?
