As Steve ferociously continued to mine the impenetrable gold, he began to hear something strange behind him, creeping closer. Could it be a bursting creeper, a dreadful zombie, or a gaunt skeleton? Whatever it was, Steve knew it was trouble.
     He turned back with an expression of anxiety. When he turned, nothing appeared. Only the gray, dull stone and the red, hot lava. "Am I going mad?" Steve wondered.
     Steve returned to his gold. When he hurled his pickaxe towards it, nothing was there. The gold had disappeared! Steve looked around painstakingly, but could not spot it.
     Soon after, the strange sound returned. Steve pivoted around to where the noise was coming from, but did not spot anything abnormal until, at the corner of his eye, he spotted a green, rotten creature and a black, eight legged creature, both, looking at him.
     Steve knew these creatures and the dangers they held. "How can this get any worse?", Steve asked himself. Then he noticed his ladder was gone. Steve would have to fight to survive.
     Steve quickly threw his pickaxe to the zombie striking it in the head. Steve then rushed at the spider dodging slimy webs. Steve jumped on the spider, grabbing his pickaxe out of the zombie's head, he mined the spider to death.
     To celebrate his victory, Steve crafted a new ladder and climbed out of the cave. Later, Steve realized a discomforting fact. 
     "I didn't get any gold..."
