Hey, this is Nicknow, and I own Citycraft. It's been a rough eight months, and I've decided to pass on my knowledge to anyone who seeks it. Every day or so I'll be giving daily tips on how to run an effective server, and not lose your mind.

Oct 19 - YOU ARE THE BOSS. No matter how you run your server, from your computer, or if you have it privately hosted, it yours. Don't let anyone change it in a way you don't like. This is a problem even I encounter frequently, because sometimes it's hard to make tough decisions. But the players are players, and you let them play on YOUR server, and you have to remember that. It's OK to make friends, but at the end of the day you do what's best for YOUR sever, not what's best for one or two players. You have to deop people sometimes, you have to do map changes, you have to remove plugins. These are all unpopular decisions that are difficult to make. It's hard but sometimes you have to do what's necessary. Even if you drive players away, there's millions more to be had. So next time your faced with a tough decision, follow your heart, and it will work out fine.

Oct 20 - DONT LET YOUR SERVER CATCH ADMIN FEVER. The worst plague a server can have is NOT aVo, not a griefing team, but admin-hungry players. People will try and convince you to make them an admin, and even rally other players to their cause. Do not listen to these people. The best ops are the strong, silent type with a great deal of respect for their work. If in doubt, always refer to rule numero uno. YOU ARE THE BOSS. Don't let Admin Fever spread, and stop it at the source, use a ban if needed. People don't need to fear you. but they need to respect you. Don't let them get inside your head.
