There seems to be a group of people within the Planet Minecraft Community who believe that, through their words can convey their texture packs to their audience. This is a crude practice, and it must be stopped. Why?
Texture packs are art. Like paintings or comics, there are good texture packs, and there are bad texture packs. Good texture packs are appealing to the eye, whereas bad texture packs are just plain ugly. However, Some texture packs posted on this site have no picture to distinguish themselves as either good or bad. These Mystery packs serve no purpose besides trolling the community. Without this picture preview, how can one determine whether or not the pack will be good? Instead, the viewer must waste their time downloading the pack, installing the pack, and playing through it to find elements of the pack that may not even be good. Is it that difficult to upload pictures? A walk through for the less educated: 1) press F2 when playing 2) Locate the picture in your files 3) Upload
There should be no reason to upload texture packs without any pictures. They're just words, with a surprise that will most likely be junk. Why else would someone not show their work to the public unless they knew it was garbage, and they just didn't want to get the down-votes or comments against their work. These texture packs and their authors are no more than trolls trying to get attention by posting packs that are effectively incomplete.
The other, less frequent scenario is when someone pirates a pack, and then posts it without pictures and has the download link through a money making site. This has the troll Profiting off of someone elses work. this hurts everyone, because they become known for someone else's pack, and the users get a pirated pack.
Hopefully, this will encourage people to pay little attention to the packs without pictures, and stop those who post texture packs without pictures of the pack from doing so.
