Hi everyone! I read and liked Makaneek's lore blogs, so I decided to write some of my own.

Arhalas stood on the wall of the city, looking at the buildings and streets within. This was Sylnos, capital of the great and glorious nation of Rylar. And to Arhalas, this was home. He had lived here his whole life, and had never been more than a half-day's journey from the city, only going as far as the farms and dwellings nearby.

But Arhalas had been feeling restless lately. He wanted to explore and see the world, and he wanted to help others whom he met on his travels. He had decided to become an adventurer a few days earlier, and now he was almost ready.

He looked over his belongings again. He had a sword, as well as a bow and some arrows. He'd been practicing with them quite a lot recently. The shopkeeper who sold them to him had advised, "It's a dangerous world out there. You never know when an enemy might attack. There's no need to be afraid, just be alert. Make sure you have your weapons ready if you need them."

Arhalas also had some food, some iron and gold nuggets (used as money there), a map of Rylar, and flint and steel for making a fire. He was confident that he was ready for his travels. If he had forgotten something, he could always buy it in a village or town when he came to one.

Arhalas then looked at his map. He saw all the opportunities that awaited him. He couldn't really decide where to go first, though. "Oh well," he said to himself, "I can decide that tomorrow when I set out."

As the day went by, Arhalas walked around the city, knowing it might be a while before he saw it again. Soon the sun was setting, and he was about to go home and rest for his coming adventure. Suddenly he heard a commotion on the north wall.

He climbed the stairway up to the wall and asked the guards what was going on. One of them answered, "Look over there, to the north. Do you see anything?"

Looking in that direction, Arhalas could see shapes in the distance, moving through the air. "Yes, I do see something, or rather many somethings. But what are they?"

"They seem to be coming this way," the guard replied. "I guess we'll wait and find out."

Soon the approaching shapes could be clearly seen. They were phantoms! "Get your weapons ready," a commander ordered. "Those who have arrows, start firing them at the phantoms. Everyone else, draw your swords."

Arhalas got his bow ready and began to fire arrows at the approaching horde. Several of the enemies were shot down, but many more remained.

The commander gave a new command: "Now draw your swords. Fight for Sylnos and for Rylar!"

Arhalas saw a phantom swooping at him. He quickly slashed at it with his sword, and it flew back. Another one came. He defended himself against this one too. A third came, and a fourth, and soon Arhalas could not keep track of how many there were. The soldiers thought they might get overwhelmed. The guards who had been keeping watch at the other walls had come to help. Still the phantoms came. Arhalas slashed and blocked, thinking only of defending himself and the city against the enemies.

Soon the numbers of phantoms were decreasing. Arhalas fought three that were near him and looked around. The phantoms were defeated, and the city was saved.

The commander came up to Arhalas. "I saw you during the battle. You did a great job there. You didn't panic, and you fought well. You seem to have natural skill with the sword."

"Thank you," Arhalas answered. "I was only doing my part to help out."

"And you are appreciated," the commander replied. "By the way, what are your plans, since you have weapons with you? Planning on adventuring or something?"

"Yes, that's my plan," Arhalas said.

"Then your skills will serve you well. If you're interested, why not head north and see if there are still any phantoms hiding somewhere? If you could find any, the information would be a great help."

"That sounds like a good idea. I think I'll do that."

"Thank you," the commander told him.

So Arhalas went to rest for the night. He was glad to have helped out, and he was eagerly awaiting what his future adventures would bring.

Haha, you’re not the only one inspired to write lore blogs. I might start some too. They might not be about Minecraft though.

If you write some, I'd definitely be interested in reading them!
