You run the launcher, you sign in. You're immediately enthralled by the main menu, there is bouncing yellow text with a random string. This is Minecraft, your first time. You enter the single player menu. You create a new world, you wonder what the heck a "seed" is. You're thrust into a world of...cubes?...

My first time playing Minecraft ever was when I had a friend over, and he was about to leave but he showed me Minecraft before he left. He signed into his account and told me some basic things like punching wood. He then left my house. I then played for hours straight through the night into the early morning. My first night playing Minecraft was magical.

And then one day I thought "I wish I could erase all memories of Minecraft, just to get that first night back again."

Minecraft has an amazing ability to capture initial interest, and then the community of Minecraft holds your attention for months, years(in my case, beta 1.5). I have never had a better experience in a game than I have the first world I ever played in Minecraft, and I'd give anything to go and relive it. I am even willing to go as far as to say that the first time in Minecraft is generally the most intriguing time that a player will play.
