The Gentlemano s Guide To Playing Minecraft

Chivalry and honor aren't dead, but they're not thriving either. Conduct yourself like a gentlemen by following these rules, (which also apply to PMC) and you'll gain the respect of everyone around you. Could it help you become a staff member, allow you to make friends on Skype and PMC, and even cause you to feel better about yourself? Probably.

  1. Dono t spam, or repeat your messages at all. Ito s lame and irritating for the server owners. Saying something worthwhile will be enough to get noticed.
  2. Dono t advertise your YouTube channel, or anything else for that matter, on Minecraft servers.
  3. If a member of o staffo makes you feel small, deals with a situation wrongly or acts all o nit-pickyo , call them up on it. Staff members areno t perfect and they certainly dono t know much more than you. Acknowledge where you went wrong and be polite, but dono t be afraid to criticise their methods if you need to.
  4. If youo re going to troll, do it like a pro. In other words, dono t be rude or offensive, but have fun and make sure it works on your o victimso .
  5. Dono t be a sore loser. Accept that you cano t always win, and be gracious in defeat. Ignore the people that areno t.
  6. Never make unreasonable demands. Dono t ask to become a staff member, or beg people to click your links. This advice especially applies when thereo s a famous YouTuber on the server. Although this is rare, dono t add to the commotion by acting crazy around them.
  7. As in every situation in life, showing intelligence and maturity improves everything. Youo re improving other peopleso server experiences by acting like a gentleman. Even using slang, swearing or o ro and o uo instead of o areo and o youo just makes it worse. So dono t do that.
  8. Being a gentleman (or a lady) online is all about coming across as the older character, and using your brain before you type. And advancing technology means that we spend more time chatting online, so this advice applies really applies to lots of situations.

Basically, don't be this guy:

Take from this what you will.

It is also very important to say words like: Dilly Dally, Spiffing, overly saying 'Quite' and 'Oh' and of course tally Whacker. Great article. One that I actually agree with in every way.

Diamond - awesome article! It really bugs me when people ask such obvious and naive things on my server and ask me to do basic things for them because they can't be bothered (like find an item in our shop), or ask questions about absolutely everything I do on the server. One person can't help but enquire about everything I'm doing on the server, like what I'm building, where I'm building, what it's for, if they can help etc, and if I don't answer within 5-10 seconds they just ask it again, and again. I might just link them to this article in the future. :D

A gentleman censors the names of that which he uses as an example of those he considers ungentlemanly.
