First of all, I wanted to start it off with,

I know some of you probably have heard about it before. There may be already a blog about it, somewhere. I haven't seen any, so I just decided to spread the awarness. Let's get started.

WAIT, WHAT IS THE HEARTBLEED BUG?

First of all, I have no idea when it started but it's now being commonly called "one of the biggest security threats the Internet has ever seen". Not a good thing, is it? The thing is, is that this bug has affected everyday websites, such as social media, and email websites, to quietly expose your account information, such as passwords. Bad, bad, bad. It also affects banking websites, stores and commerce networks, and Minecraft (oh, the horror).

WELL HOW WOULD I PROTECT MYSELF FROM THIS?!

Alright, don't worry. A lot of the websites have made patches, but you still need to change your password IMMEDIATELY. The information is still out there. But, you won't need to later on, unless the patch has not been made or the Heartbleed Virus crept in again.

OH NO, SOMEONE MIGHT HACK IN TO MY MINECRAFT!

This is what I thought at first. I talked to someone who is an expert on these things, and they said that Minecraft will most likely be unaffected by hackers. If the hackers are smart (most of them are, surprise surprise), they'll go after the big guns, such as baking websites and emails.

But, just in case, migrate your account, if you haven't yet, and change you password (infact, I need go change mine. But I'm not in a rush, since I migrated my account.). Just in case if someone just wants to play around.

But anyway, the most important thing is to change your websites from where hackers can get a profit from. Where they can get money.

But that's all I needed to say. Make sure to tell your friends and family, spread the awareness about one of the biggest threats the Internet has ever seen.

This bugs been around for 2 years and only now it was noticed hugly by people including myself? Maybe they did it slowly and unnotice able so thats probably why it took so long for people to know about it and for it to actually be a threat.

Actually, I'm pretty sure they can only get your password if you have recently logged into your account. Luckily for me, I pretty much just stay logged in.

Heartbleed isn't a virus as far as I know, it was a security breach that affected 2/3 of the internet. Also, I think it's a bit late for this- I've seen 5 blogs on how to protect yourself, and I'm pretty sure everyone has done it now..

Right. A lot of people were calling it a virus (my friends...), so I guess that's what I wrote.

Anyway, I wrote that I haven't seen any, thanks for notifying me. xD
