The Sniffers used tactics like hiding in holes in the ground because the moss on their backs blended in with the grassy plains in which they lived to survive. But the builders still hunted them. Some people hid Sniffer eggs in their, which sunk when the sea rose.

And so that is how the Sniffers became extinct.
