Hey Cats,
My names Grease or GhostKnives depending where you've met me. I'm not a regular blogger, in fact this is my first PMC blog post(and quite possibly the last) and I'm here to talk about the importance of "Diamonding".

Now I know what your all thinking. "Just another sucker who wants some free diamonds. *eyeroll* " And you may be right. HOWEVER!! This is not about me so bend in your ear and listen to my words.

From time to time I browse through projects and skins to see whats new. These days I rarely ever download but I still drop the occasional comment of encouragement or how they might improve. I will also follow through and leave a big shiny DIAMOND .

It only takes a second to Diamond a submission and it cost me nothing. If I see a submission that deserves attention than I diamond it simple as that. Now you don't have to like the building, skinning or blogging style to diamond something. Just ask yourself "Is this a quality submission?" if the answer is anywhere near yes than By All Means Leave A DIAMOND.

So there's my opinion on Diamonds. Now remember before you leave this blog and go your way, if that were your submission would you want diamonds?

Another thing, if you feel like something is good enough to download, why not diamond it? It is far too often that I see posts with 10 times as many downloads as diamonds.

So don't go randomly dropping diamonds over worthless posts and unfinished projects. Ask yourself IS IT QUALITY?

That's all for now Cats,

GhostKnives

P.S. AslanGrants makes my point with a bit more style HERE: http://www.planetminecraft.com/blog/diamonds-and-xp-the-problems-of-both/

I totally agree with u, I'm really tired of people not giving diamonds if they really like the project and have the nerve to download it.

Another thing that bothers me is when people download but don't leave a diamond. If you take the time to download it then surely you can press 1 more button right? But no, I have some things that have 20 downloads but no diamonds at all. If you like it enough to download it, you should be kind enough to diamond it too, right? I diamond everything that I download.

Yeah that really pisses me off too. I've see projects with 60 downloads and 3 diamonds. I forgot to bring it up in the blog, Kudos for the comment.

Wow! I got on this afternoon and see this on the blog pop-reel. That's actually pretty good because it spreads the message around.
@AslanGrants: I couldn't agree more. So often I look at recent skins or builds and see something that obviously took allot of time and effort that receives hardly any attention let alone Diamonds. Take this guy for example

These are quality skins but he's still a level-one.

Jus' to be a supporting, polite dude, I gave each and every one of his (Very well done) skins a well-deserved diamond. I'll definitely be looking for his skins again. And while I'm at it, bravo on pop reel. You deserve it. :3

I'm starting to think that diamonds are more about popularity now. I notice that people who are higher levels generally receive more diamonds for work that is of the same quality, and some times, lesser than someone who has very few levels. But I assume that's mostly from the amount of subscribers. Which is understandable, but people who aren't subscribed will generally not leave a diamond to a specific user, and it's often times odd. But the fact when someone who isn't very popular releases something original and nice, it flies under the radar almost completely. But when someone who has a large number of subscribers or who has a larger level than someone else releases something that a) isn't original, or b) has been done too many times already is almost instantly flooded with diamonds. And it makes earning diamonds and support for players of a lesser level much harder to get and much more time consuming. Like this, for example. A new account for someone who obviously has skills in shading comes off of SkinDex or some other skin posting site and posts something good and original to PMC, it barely gets noticed, let alone diamonded, whereas a level thirty or so skinner puts out something that took maybe ten minutes gets at least twelve and pop-reel within an hour. But, maybe that's just how I think about it. But either way, here's a diamond, mate. In show of support. ^-^
