Did you ever browse the skin section, and only saw high quality skins with a cool, all new concept that you have never seen before? Well, me neither. Whenever I go through the newest skin submissions, I kind of feel like I'm experiencing a Deja Vu. Haven't I seen this skin before? This one looks pretty close to that other one from XYZ... And that one is just a recolored version again...

On my journey through all these skins, I met some "friends", as I call them, over and over again. Skins, that have been copied more than thousands of times. I'm not talking about Herobrine Skins. Neither am I talking about the Creeper, Zombie, Pig-Zombie Skins that people upload, claiming that it took them so much work.


No. I am talking about skins that actually once probably were pretty good in the concept. But then, other people created more and more rip-offs of this one original skin. They recolored it, changed some Pixels, added some other parts and so on...

Take a nice picture of you and print it out on a sheet of paper. Then, copy it. Then throw the original away and copy your copy. Repeat steps 2 and 3 a hundred times - your picture turned into a really crappy copy of the original (unless you have a great copier).

Today, I want to intuduce the Most Copied and Stolen Skins of All Time to you. None of these skins are mine. For most of them it's impossible to find the original creator due to the plain unbelievable quantity of the redos, copies and rip-offs (except halucids "Skin of Kacboy", Studnicky's "Endermage" and "Altair Ibn La'Ahad"). If you are the original creator, or know the original creator of any of these skins, please contact me.

Again, all these skins are actually not that bad, don't get me wrong. If you read the text above carefully and understand the basics of sarcasm, you should be able to understand what I'm saying in the folowing skin descriptions. Enjoy! (Or don't...)

Number 1 - The Golden Knight

Actually not that bad... golden armor, a nice looking helmet, a cool diamond on the chest and a diamond sword on the back. It just needs to be polished up a little bit and some shading. If it wasn't for the constantly appearing copies of the skin... Red-, Black-, Green-, Blue-, Redstone-, Diamond-, Creeper-themed - I've seen them all, and more are coming.

Number 2 - The Fire-Creeper

The creeper is the most distinguishing mob in Minecraft. Everything that has to do with Minecraft needs to have him somewhere. And to be honest, I think he's kind of cool. So is this version of a flame-themed Creeper. Nice shading, cool concept. The only problem is that last time I searched PMC, I found more than 5 times the exact same skin.

Number 3 - Assassins

I really love the Assassin's Creed Games. I have lived through the life of the rebellious and stubborn Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad and the womanizer Ezio Auditore da Firenze. So have many others, and it seems like all those fans just had to upload an assassin skin, whether or not thy made it themselves. Result: You see those guys above more often than it is likely to actually see an assassin without dying.

Number 4 - The Ender-Mage

Even the great Studnicky made a version of him, saying that he wanted to make a better version than the other hundreds of skins. In my opinion, the original (can you even say that?) is still better. Sorry Studnicky. If you are reading this, I'm still a big fan!

Number 5 - The Skin of Kacboy

Barney Stinson, James Bond, Tony Montana, Kacboy and many others can't be wrong: Nothing beats a classy suit when it comes to fashion. But a creeper or a cow wearing such a masterpiece? No. Just no. At least make your own suit!

Number 6 - Teenager Skins

AwwwWW my Gaawwd!!!! IIIzzzZz a kwweeel Teen4Gaaar!! - Yeah. Like we totally need another one. So, I think people talked about this enough already, so I won't continue any further. Let me just tell you a litlle secret: look at the pattern of the girl's hair. Memorize it. Next time you see a "Cute Girl" skin, compare it. Noticed something?


Number 7 - The Nude Guy from Skincraft

I hope this blog doesn't get removed because of this inappropriate nude skin. But it just belongs to this circle of the Most Copied Skins of All Time. The reason: It is the template skin from this program: Skincraft, by the-swain. And some people think it is funny to just not add anything to it at all.

Number 8 - The Creeper-/Enderman-Hunter

Whoever came up with this skin at first: Wow, I really do like the concept with the upside down creeper on the back! Can't see it? Well, search for it! The Enderman version looks nice, too, I wonder if it's from the same guy? How about people make another good version, e.g. a Blaze-Hunter? Oh right, they are too busy just uploading the exact copy of it. Maybe with a creeper-face added, so it's a creeper-hunting creeper. Seems legit!




Number 9 - Kyn's "Dwarf Red Beard"


The most popular skin on planetminecraft.com of all time! 995 diamonds, 168,933 views, 58,484 downloads, 1086 comments, 225 favorited (August 12th 2012, 11am GMT). Also the most stolen one, sadly. And no, Honeydew did not make this skin, as so many think. If you want another beard-color: Kyn, the creator of this skin, has provided this skin with many other beard-colors. And if you want a purple beard or another freaky color: Make it yourself! I made the Dwarf on the left in 2 Minutes!





Number 10 - The Slenderman






The perfect material for everybodys Nightmare: A tall person in a black suit and a completely white face that steals little children and prevents you from sleeping. With the hype about the Slender horror game, the hype on PMC started too. And now with the "Monster in the Closet" - skin-contest, everybody seems to make him. Take a suit, add a white head, done. Number 11 - Herobrine






READ the blog! It is not about Steve-, Herobrine-, Zombie-, Pig-Zombie- or any of those skins! Those are not even worth to be talked about in this blog. Please do not suggest that I should add them anymore! Thank you!

I don't usually do this kind of blog. I just really felt like it, since I just get really mad about stolen skins and flag quite a lot of them. If you do it for a while, you get kind of depressed, because you just can't keep up flagging the skins. Also, you get to know them pretty well.
