The zombie and the spider were just inches from Steve, and if they wanted to, they could’ve maimed/killed him. The spider was lusting for the miner’s blood; he hadn't seen a miner for years but had strong hatred towards them. Unfortunately for the spider, the zombie had an opposing idea; he wanted to keep the miner alive.
“He should be dead, along with ALL the other miners who mindlessly tear up our underground home!” the spider argued. “NO! He could be very useful to us! I was once a miner just like HIM! I KNEW people like him!” the zombie harshly replied.
After hacking at the gold for hours, Steve turned around to eat some lunch.
“HEY! You two! What do you think you’re doing here?” Steve snapped.
“We’re just watching you mine. That’s all.” replied the spider, preparing his fangs for Steve’s neck.
“LIAR!” the zombie said right as the spider jumped at Steve.
Acting quickly, the zombie shoved the spider into the lava.
“Wow, thanks zombie!” Steve was surprised that a zombie just helped him.
The burning spider then leaped out of the lava, aiming for the zombie. Instead, the spider met Steve's lovely stone blade.
The zombie tossed Steve an iron pickaxe so he could mine the gold, then told him: “I have an offer.”
