I honestly don't know how to start this so i'll start off by saying that this is a PvP tutorial. It's not about charging out and capturing the moment of battle. If you want to learn how to do that, go somewhere else. This is about taking advantage of situations where your enemy least expects to find a sword through his torso. I'll start of with the basics, and go into greater detail, until you know my greatest secrets about shadow warfare.

1. Knowing the Purpose of Your Attack

When wanting to defeat an opponent, you need to first ask yourself what your purpose will be. Do you want to teach someone a lesson by crushing them underfoot, or do you want to destroy and loot their encampment? There are many pros and cons to different attacks. When making your enemy know that you can defeat them, they will second guess attacking you next time they encounter you. But they also know who you are from your username above your head, and many other people will know you killed them from the server message. When you destroy their supplies, be it their shelter or their chests, you will weaken their mind since they don't know who did the crime, and it will also hinder them helpless for quite some time.

2. Approaching your Enemy

Once you have decided how you want to attack, you will want to know how to approach your enemy. When you want to defeat your enemy by killing them, always approach behind them, and if you only have the option of a head on attack, crouching is essential. It will essentially render you invisible until they see you with their own eyes. One of the worst things that can happen when your sneaking up on someone is for them to turn around. Someone who is surprised will usually not stop to ask why your holding a sword. The swords will go swinging. When you are sneaking behind someone, don't crouch. Stand up and get ready to book it if they turn around. You can avoid this setback by looking at your victims head, they will move their head before they move their body, so if you see them start to move, strafe around the opposite direction. Also try and get them when they are doing an activity, like maybe cutting wood or constructing their shelter.

If your wanting to destroy their resources, time is key. Study your victims house and see if there are numerous exits, you always want to have an escape route just in case your opponent walks in on you. Before you make your raid, sneak inside their house and check their belongings. You never know if there is something useful, and if there is, make sure to transport it to safety before you start the raid. Once your finally ready and your victim is away, only take gear that is essential and won't be a big deal if you die. The most basic of supplies include the following:

  • A Sword, Preferably Stone
  • An Axe, for Deconstruction
  • Flint and Steel, if it's a Cobblestone Structure, Leave Behind
  • TnT, if There is Cobblestone

3. Know your Enemy

This mainly has to do with killing your enemy, so if your only interesting in raiding, you can skip over this section. When you see your potential target, don't get overwhelmed by their armor. They could have diamond armor, or leather, you will be able to take them out by being patient. Wait for them to do a regular task, like chopping wood or going mining. Most likely, someone would not wear a valuable piece of armor while doing that task. If you see someone in that kind of situation, you should take advantage of the situation and take them out.

4. Knowing When to Stop

Don't let your pride overwhelm you. If you make poor judgment about who you can take on, and even when, you can end up being killed. And we wouldn't want that would you? If you take on more than you can chew, you'll gain a reputation of being one of those PvP fanatics, killing fresh spawns. Then everyone will be gunning for your head on their wall. Time is your ally, wait a little bit between your crimes, as in time, people will forget what you did to poor "NoobSlay3r" and you can pick your next target. This is almost one of the best tip to follow, no matter your skill.

5. Using Critical Hits

This is especialy useful when attacking someone from behind. Critical hits add a significant amount of damage to any blow. You can inflict a critical hit randomly, or you can control when you want to use one. Jumping and hitting the person from mid-air inflicts a critical hit. When you are a serious pvper, most of you use iron swords right? An iron sword kills an unarmored individual in four hits. Not bad right? Well, when you inflict a critical hit with a iron sword, you can kill someone in two hits. The time saved not having to hit someone can change the battle, especially if there are more than one individuals.

It's good...but it needs far more color, pictures etc. Plus it is almost too obvious, everyone knows when it is "enough" and even knows what they want as the outcome.

Yes, I know about the pictures, I wasn't able to upload them, sorry :P
I also don't understand the problem with rehashing something that people know, there is always room for a good reminder.
