It feels like it has been a good long while since I have taken the time to conjure something of horror from my own mind, so much that I miss it. Creating all of these things that already exist, instead of your own imagination of darkness really makes you forget who you are, what you are meant to be, your capability, why you were doing this all in the first place...at least for me that is...
I give to you...The Pestilent Hunger.
A highly contagious plague erupted within the nether realms, this disease takes the host violently and quickly in a matter of minutes. Skin pigmentation depletes to a sickly purple with green rash like warts spreading upon the skin.
The heart over pumps so much blood throughout the body the veins begin to swell visibly into the skin until they burst from the flesh, bleeding over the purple hue. Due to the constant amount of blood loss and the need for the body to regenerate what it is losing, the body goes into a ravenous state of hunger to drive the body to eat.
This overdrive forces the brain to grow a form of dementia to remove the more intelligent functions of the membrane, but maintains the basic motor functions of movement and consumption, this also disables the safety protocols set by the brain to keep the body from injuring itself, making the host stronger and faster than what the brain allows.
Finally, the mouth splits and tears across the skin, flesh, and bone revealing large teeth that pop out the basic teeth within. The final result is a similarity to a zombie. No reasoning or pacification, just relentless feral savagery designed to kill and spread the unknown virus amongst others, the only difference is these things are not dead nor do they come back if they die while infected...
