Solomon: So, you are the_soup a site mod and a skinner, and a very good one too. I am curious as to what drew you to skinning?

the_soup: Two things. Firstly, I had a hard time finding female skins that I actually liked. Secondly, I saw Honeydew's skin and thought it was the cutest thing ever. That's also why most of my early skins have the 'Honeydew face'.

Solomon: What made you want to become a moderator?

the_soup: I never specifically wanted to become a moderator. I generally try to act mature in whatever I'm doing, so I sort of naturally did that on PMC without specifically trying to attract attention to myself. I was very flattered when I was asked, though. Now that I am a moderator, it's pretty easy to spot when someone is trying to act helpful/mature just to get the attention of mods. It's much more helpful if you just do that without wanting attention, though.

Solomon: What is the most irritating thing you have seen on PMC?

the_soup: Gosh, people do a lot of annoying things on PMC. I think the most irritating thing, though, is when people outright lie to me. If you break one of our rules, it honestly isn't a huge deal. Many people break the rules. Apologize, read the rules, and move on. What is annoying is when people lie about it to save face or to try to trick us. It doesn't work, and it just makes the moderation process 100% more difficult than it has to be. Also it sort of implies that you think we (the moderators) are stupid and gullible and trust us, we are not.

Solomon: Do you want to ever just quit due to some people?

the_soup: Nooo. Like I said, I'm a pretty mature person so I can handle when people get annoying. If I ever get too annoyed at someone I can always ask another mod to handle it. Trust me, a good chunk of life is dealing with annoying people, so it's best to learn how to do it here :P

Solomon: How old are you, if you dono t mind me asking?

the_soup: I'll turn 23 in a little bit more than a month

Solomon: Are you attending college currently?

the_soup: Sorta. Money is sort of tight for us so I'm taking a break right now to earn enough money to finish my senior year. I'm majoring in Anthropology with a focus on Archaeology, and minoring in Art History.

Solomon: Wow, you really got your goals set.

the_soup: I try.

Solomon: I can tell. So tell me a bit about yourself, what do you do, where do you come from, what are your hobbies, what do you hate, do you play an instrument, do you do any sports, etc.

the_soup: Well, I come from the Pittsburg area of Pennsylvania, but I go to college across the state. I like geocaching, hiking, camping, and lazy stuff like cooking and messing around on the computer. I hate, um...when people make the mistake of pluralizing things with apostrophes (i.e. saying apostrophe's). I used to take vocal lessons throughout high school, and I'm much too athletic for sports.

Solomon: So you are a singer?

the_soup: Well, I enjoy singing. Whether I have any actual talent is up for debate XD

Solomon: Do you have any video or something of the sort so we can hear?

the_soup: Nooo, besides, that was years ago when I was in high school.

Solomon: You're only 23 that's not too long ago.

the_soup: Well, I graduated in 2009

Solomon: So what is your occupation currently?

the_soup: None atm, looking for a job.

Solomon: Would you care to talk about your family?

the_soup: Well, my family consists of me, my mom and my younger sister.

Solomon: Is your sister a gamer like you?

the_soup: Yes, even more so than me.

Solomon: Is she a PMCo er like you?

the_soup: I don't think she plays MC, she's more into console games.

Solomon: Xbox or PS? If she is Play Station we wono t talk about her again ;)

the_soup: lol I believe PS

Solomon: So, what has been the greatest struggle so far in your life?

the_soup: I'd say trying to finish college.

Solomon: Who has made the greatest impact in your life?

the_soup: Probably my father. He was a very intelligent, logical man who could discuss pretty much any subject. I really value that and want to try to be like him in those aspects.

Solomon: What does he do for a living?

the_soup: He worked as an engineer for a large manufacturing company.

Solomon: Ohh an engineer, a great deal of my family were engineers. Where did he graduate from?

the_soup: IUP, I think.

Solomon: So why did you come to PMC and what drew you to it?

the_soup: Well, I had posted my skins on MCF and Skindex, but I really liked how PMC had a dedicated skinning section (unlike MCF). I also liked the community aspect of it, which Skindex didn't have.

Solomon: You're one of the best known skinners on PMC, anything to tell anyone who is just starting?

the_soup: Always self-critique. It's soooo easy to get into a pattern where you refuse to acknowledge your weaknesses, and therefore never actually improve. Whenever you make a new skin, look honestly at your past skins and try to see what you could do better. Each new skin you make will be better than the last.

Solomon: What has been your favorite skin to make? Also what inspires you to make most of the skins you have made?

the_soup: I could never pick a favorite. Every time I make a new skin I think it's my favorite, so I guess my current 'favorite' would be my Creeper Style skin. I'm inspired to make a skin whenever I think of an idea that I consider original. Being someone who makes female skins primarily, there are many skinning topics that haven't really been covered from a female perspective, so I try to do that as much as I can. I also like taking unoriginal ideas (Slenderman, hoodie skins, etc.) and making them into original and high-quality skins.

Solomon: What is the worst thing you have ever done?

the_soup: in terms of, like, skinning?

Solomon: In terms of anything, have you ever done something bad? Any real life things that you have ever regretted doing?

the_soup: Well, you've never met any of my ex's....

Solomon: Oh, well theno ¦ So, what type of music genre is your favorite?

the_soup: I like drum 'n' bass, drill 'n' bass, jungle, 90s electro, ambient

Solomon: So I think I will have to ask any girl I interview on the internet, how many people have tried to hit on you or ask you out through the internet because I have seen firsthand guys trying to hit on girl gamers, and sometimes the girl gamers are actual guys.

the_soup: Not that many. Generally as long as your avatar isn't a selfie (or a picture of someone else that you're pretending is yourself), most people don't even consider that you're a girl. Which sounds sort of silly since my avatar is currently a pink cupcake, but it's true.

Solomon: Yeah, but you can never trust the interwebs.

the_soup: ZaphodX, for a long time, had a picture of a pretty girl as his avatar, and the PMs he would get would be downright obscene.

Solomon: Not surprised >.>

the_soup: He's a guy and even said so multiple times in his profile.

Solomon: Oh myo ¦ Faith in humanity lowers daily for me. So besides Minecraft what other games can we see you playing? Do you have a steam account or play on the play station with your sister?

the_soup: Well, actually, I'm not much of a gamer. My computer is a 5 year old laptop which doesn't run much, and because of our money situation I don't like to buy games/consoles. Naah, she keeps that holed up in her room. I know, being a female 23 year old non-gamer puts me in a tiny demographic among PMC members.

Solomon: You are one of a kind I suppose. So, what do you plan on accomplishing in your PMC life time?

the_soup: Well, I really hope I can change the perception of female skins and female skinners. Gamers can be a pretty sexist bunch at times, but I think I've seen a shift towards people really making an effort towards standing up for gender equality.

Solomon: Have fun with that : / So do you play Minecraft very much or do you just go on PMC to upload skins, watch the posts, and moderate the site?

the_soup: I don't play a ton of Minecraft anymore. Mostly what I do now is just on the PMC server.

Solomon: I saw on the new PMC skin challenge you based your skin off of a mythical prophetess, are you a myth/ historical fanatic?

the_soup: I don't know about fanatic, but being interested in Archaeology goes hand in hand with being interested in many of the classical ancient societies like Greece, Egypt, etc.

Solomon: I enjoy history. So, I believe it is getting close to your bed time. It was nice talking to you.

Oh and one last question before the interview is posted, what is your favorite soup?

the_soup: Chicken, I guesso ¦

Stay tunes for next weeko s interview with Paril himself!

o Goll! Would you stop daydreaming for a second and get this roof done?o Conan says, snapping me out of a trance. I was admiring the sky, gazing at the stars before a block of clouds sadly obscures them. A view of the heavens wono t be ours tonight. Unusually for this time of year, a stormo s on its way. My brother, Conan, whoo s sitting just below me at a desk in his new room, wants his roof completed before the rains arrive.

o If you want something built quickly, then build it yourself,o I say. o I was under the impression it was your hut.o

o Well, if you want that iron you so desperately needo ¦o he says with a smirk.

Ito s not a big deal, I think. At least I dono t have any other jobs right now, and thanks to the moon ito s bright: good conditions for building. But as I place the last block, I realize that yet another house has been completed. I dono t like it. With over 50 homes accommodating nearly 200 residents, the village of Mirithtia is spreading like an out-of-control plague, taking over the short supply of land and squeezing us into ever tighter conditions. I can feel the lanes getting closer and darker, enhancing my worrying sense of claustrophobia. I have to contribute and help with the construction, but I dono t know how much longer Io ll be able to cope.

o Much appreciated, brother!o Conan shouts brightly, knocking on his ceiling directly beneath me.

o See you in a week when you move back in,o I retort, only half-joking. He probably cano t hear me. Mother says heo s too young to live alone, and shouldno t be leaving the family house with the growing threat of mobs in the country. Although I laugh about it with Conan, I share her concerns, wishing heo d stayed for just another half-year. But he has a mind of his own; we cano t stop him flying the nest.

I sigh and start to climb down, carrying some leftover supplies with me. Ito s not steep or particularly high, but still I take caution. I pause to take in the view, then turn around and start climbing the ladder to the ground 3 meters below.

Before my foot hits the second rung, I hear a scream. A terrible, ear-splitting shriek that pierces the night. A volley of horrific sounds, mingling as one. Where is it coming from? I look around frantically, frozen on my perch. No one in sight. But the scream goes on. And ito s coming from all around me, from everywhere. How?

Suddenly, thereo s something green. Something with slimy square scales. I catch only a glimpse before it swiftly disappears around the corner. Ito s enough for me to shout a warning.

o CONAN!o I roar, far too late. The creeper explodes and I fall into darkness.

Not a second later. As my eyes clear, I see blood spitting from my limbs, flowing into the mud along with the creepero s bubbling pus. My hands took the most damage. I can barely move them, but there are far greater horrors for me now. My brothero s house, along with half of the neighboring hut, is a pile of rubble. Nothing left.

o Conan!o I gasp, unable to see any sign of him. Scrabbling out of the crater. Dono t make it very far. I grunt in pain and collapse into the crater of ruins. Among the stones, mud and splinters is a note, which I reluctantly reach for. On the piece of charred, torn paper is a single sentence that reads: o Do not look at him if you can see him.o
The words chill me to my very core.

Not because it hurts to pick it up. Not because it doesn't make sense. Not because of anything, except the fact that ito s written in my handwriting.

How is this possible? I almost hiss the question aloud as tears of all-consuming terror and agony spring to my eyes. Ito s too much. First the scream and the creeper somehow breaching the outer defences, Conano s disappearance and now this. Four impossible things in a night. It has to be a nightmare. It has to be. Io m so tired.

The village is on fire. Hours and hours of work burned down in a matter of minutes. At least two or three explosions happened. Chaos has brought it back to life. I hear the flames raging, the horrified screams of women, the crying of defenseless children and the panicked shouts of the men. I drag myself up, so I can see just over the lip of my crater. People are running and roaring in terror. No sign of Conan, or anyone from my family. Too painful to do anything, let alone go and find them. I see the need to get buckets of water and to save children, but what are they running from? What the hell is going on?

A monster answers my question. It appears at the end of the lane and slowly turns its grisly head. Ito s looking at me. As it advances, I fixate on it in fascinated horror, examining it as it moves closer and displays ever greater, ghoulish detail. Not a zombie or a skeleton. Ito s not just a mob. Ito s a bloody concoction of every kind of mob in existence. Ito s human shaped, but strips of slimy green flesh hang over its grey rib-cage. The face is also flat and grey. Bones are visible everywhere. Its eyes are pools of oil. This beast, and Io m sure ito s not the only one here, whatever it may be, comes from the very lowest depths of demonic hell.

And ito s coming for me.

Helpo s not on its way. Everyone has their own problem, their own monster to run from. I take no satisfaction in seeing Bolan, the village blacksmith, as he runs across the lane just a dozen yards away. He couldn't have saved me anyway; he had no weapons, looked like he had a limp and two of the beasts were hot on his tail. Heo s as doomed as I am. I watch helplessly from my pit as the beast stumbles and lurches forward. It seems to cackle to itself, then moans and gurgles with delight, drawing out the moments of pleasure as it sniffs my blood. All of a sudden, sanity takes hold and Io m mustering the effort to drag myself across the crater, in spite of my ripped palms, a splinter the length of my finger sticking out of my thigh and a worryingly deep cut above my ankle, which is exposed by huge rips in my boots and trousers. I brush locks of brown hair from my forehead and, fueled by adrenaline, manage to pull myself over the other side, gasping for breath.

It all happens very quickly after that. I only crawl a few yards before the thing grabs me by the neck and throws me at a nearby well. Io m underwater. Water stinging my wounds. Every limb hurts. Blinded by bubbleUs and dirt. A bony green hand yanks me up, and a hideous face is instantly breathing into my spluttering mouth as I thrash in the waist-deep water. Teeth and claws surround me, flashing and swiping. The creature has me in its clutches. This is it. No way out.

I open my mouth to scream.

To be continued...

I have played the great game of Minecraft when it was still in Beta mode. Now that I have seen it evolve, I am very saddened by saying that Minecraft might be starting to over-kill there game. A comment I have read from a blog really basically stated what I was saying. This lead me to believe that maybe more people have an opinion similar to mine.

Minecraft 1.6 was just recently released and it is either a great innovation or a red flag for Minecraft users. The common Minecraft user of the post beta age would think this is normal, because they might have not felt what simple Minecraft was. All these new gadgets and animals are clearly based off of a mod. They really are looking at the community, which is good and could be a blessing, (Key word could), but it could be a terrible mistake.

I always looked at mods as a good edition to the game, but if you dono t want it then you dono t have to get it. This is not the same for official updates to the game. If they update, yes you can choose not to update it, but what if your favorite server updated and you needed to update your game to play on that server. Plus all of this is more complicated than just not downloading, just how what you would do for a mod.

Minecraft is a great game, but can it withstand that title for the years to come. I hope soo ¦

This is just my opinion, and if it matches yours that is great, but if it does not match your opinion you are entitled to your opinion, and you can send me your opinion to me and I would be happy to read it.

Hello and welcome to The PMC Times. No don't sit there, that chair isn't safe. Seriously it's made of anti-matter. This week I will be doing a server review, and yes this is my first review on The PMC Times.

The server is called Creative-Build and as the name suggests it's a creative server. It has that plugin which allows you to marry someone if they want to marry you. A little word of advice: FOLLOW THE RULES. If you don't your plot gets reset or you get banned, it's a great server though. We learnt a lot of things on the server, we (well at least I) never learnt so much about Minecraft. We figured out that most females play on creative servers like this one and other things I might discuss next week.

Precusor Laboratories did a survey to calculate the rating of the server and reached a conclusion. The rating is below.

theg0dwind: 10/10
PinkyPanda20: 8/10
NerdyApple: 10/10
Fionna51286: 10/10
UserX12: 10/10
marymiller913: 8/10
rPlus_: 9/10
RainbowMagikFTW: 9.9/10
queenliz08: 7/10
Emilythewolf: 5/10

Total Score: 76.9/100 Divide by 10 = Overall Rating
Overall Rating: 7.69/10

This is a great server so try it out at: http://www.planetminecraft.com/server/creative-build-1734810/. I will be on often. Peace! Don't you forget about me!

diamonds_zpsdcbjpg

It was a normal morning in the diamond-trusted town of Lockslin, and everything was peaceful. The village was made of wood and stone brick, and the houses were about medium size, with flat roofs to climb on. In the east divisions, the poor division, there was only a big community diamond chest, and the whole community was not as protected as the rest. In the west district's, there were shops everywhere, and almost all the merchandise was diamonds; diamond cloths, diamond food, diamond forks, diamond furniture, diamond hair, heck, even diamond plants! Finally, leaning in the deep south district, was the rich districts, and these houses were worth a price. The houses of the south district were almost completely infused with diamond in every single block, and the door had a security system, ironically the companies name was 'Diamond protection'.

Now, in the southeast of Lockslin, somewhere between the poor and the rich, lay the few houses of those with rich heritage, yet would rather embrace the poor. Deep in this area, resided 18 year old Sanders Wool, the son of the mayor, Berry Wool, and his mother, Savannah Wool. Although his surname should of been Lockslin, there was a mix up in his heritage, around the time that the 3rd mayor of Lockslin was alive, he married Sarah Wool, and they had a son and a daughter. Unfortunately, soon after Mr. Lockslin died, his son died as well, leaving his daughter to be mayor, and she married a fine man of Lockslin, and they became ruling together. To their surprise, her father and brother both had a disease, and they said she would die in a year, and this was extremely bad news, considering she was pregnant with her child. She died in childbirth, as well as the child, so the position of mayor was entrusted to her closest relative, Jack wool.

Sanders woke up with a long yawn, as the new day would bring upon all the important things he must do. His father was making him write a speech for Lockslin day, they day in history when Lockslin was founded, his speech was to be on the importance of diamonds, and how they have shaped society in Lockslin. Sanders rolled onto his feet, and scrambled to his computer, dang, he thought to himself, as he looked on his file where he stored the speech and that all he has was "Diamonds are awesome and Lockslin need's them because there slimy greedy snobs." Sanders looked down at the feet, there was only 4 days until Lockslin day, and he knew he needed some inspiration. Sanders quickly got dressed and ran downstairs. "Woah there, young man, you better have something to eat" Said his mom. His mom lived with him because she felt bad because her little boy lived in the southeast district while they lived there huge diamond mansion in the south. "Mom, please, I need to find some inspiration for my speech"

You can read the rest of it here.
