From the introduction of 1.8 it broke this amazing fun times we had here, but thanks to a user in the comments section below it is time for me to update the most popular blog on my account. Let’s have some particle power back
Now this isn’t as fancy as the original version (which is a shame) HOWEVER I will not disappoint and we can still have our amazing particle cloaks (but not as amazing) in 1.8, 1.9, 1.10 etc. etc.

To start with, like before we are going to need ourselves a command block (ima just reuse the image of the old one because I’m lazy like that, plz don’t hate me)

in order for one to obtain this command block, your /give command is:

/give <username> command_block

this will make one pop into your hand from thin air ( :o magical)

The Power of the Particles: Give your player Cosmetic Auras (Minecraft 1.10)

Before you place the command block you are going to update a gamerule. you are going to update this gamerule unless you love command output spam in your chat, if this is the case, please do not execute this command to update a gamerule

the command is

/gamerule commandBlockOutput false

you are going to place the command block on the ground and inside it you are going to write as follows

/execute @a[name=YOUR MINECRAFT USERNAME HERE] ~ ~ ~ /particle smoke ~ ~ ~ 0.25 0.75 0.25 0 100

I’m just gonna steal AttackOnTARDIS's coordinates (he wrote them for me in the comments)

so according to his comment, the numbers afterwards will i quote

"This gives me smoke particle at my location, 0.25 towards x, 0.75 towards y, and 0.25 towards z coordinates. It also summons 100 smoke particles."

so in the command 0.25 is your X reference to your character, 0.25 is your Y reference to your character and 0.25 is the Z reference to your character, this means the 100 is the number of particles that will be created
Now these new command blocks are great, they mean I don’t need to setup a redstone clock like last time

I have set my command block to be on

UNCONDIITONAL (note the command doesn’t seem to work with it off, so you need this on)

this means the block will repeat the command over and over again until A is crashes my pc, or B i scream at it to shut up

(or C when I turn it off)

Now as soon as I exit this interface this command will trigger and give me an amazing poof of 100 lava particles around myself

The Power of the Particles: Give your player Cosmetic Auras (Minecraft 1.10)

I think it worked, this is like 100 times more fun than 1.7 i lied at the start, that was to make you sad
Now in order to make this command actually usable i am going to have to tone down these particles, to make it more subtle and easier to use

I had to set it to 5 so it would actually be usable, the big numbers are fine when moving, but are not usable when standing still, maybe i should try a different particle, the lava one is very intrusive.
logging onto http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Particles i decided to use the particle that comes off the end rod, so the in the command

/execute @a[name=Karrthus] ~ ~ ~ /particle lava~ ~ ~ 0.25 0.75 0.25 0 100

i will change lava to endRod

Now I have white poof around me

Now my most favorite one, and the best one to troll your friends with is defiantly the Elder guardian, not everyone knows, but the effect the Elder guardian creates when you get near it is actually a particle effect. its ID is mobappearance
this gives me this effect

obviously you wouldn’t put it on a crazy fast loop like me, maybe here is a good time to set your command block up to a Redstone clock?
third person looks crazy

It’s taken over 6 months, but I have now finally updated this blog to work with the most recent updates of Minecraft (i am writing this blog in Minecraft version 1.10.2
hugs n kisses to AttackonTardis for giving me the answer instead of having to google it myself

Curious, can someone point me to the right line of code to have Flame particles to emit in crown formation & on the top side of my characters head.

(Basically making it look like the flaming helmet famously featured in the Halo genre)

and then this happened....;
>>>/execute at "Playername" run particle minecraft:flame ~ ~2 ~ 0.15 0.1 0.1 0 7 force <<<

A little messy and hard to look up at times, not sure how to figure out that Mcguffin but I'd hope it's an easy fix with a few acceptions. :D

Thank you for pointing me the right way Karrthus! favorite <3
