Just realised I can update you through this blog so....

Even though I have slowed down am doing some research(mostly google and youtubeπŸ˜‹) on byzantine mosaics and... OMG. Since am greek i was pretty familiar with it but seeing the way they made it was amazing. BUT like I told you in a previous post, it is IMPOSSIBLE to replicate the delicate detailing of byzantine decorations ESPECIALLY when it comes to the mosaics( Most buildings had some type of mosaic, on the inside and outside, the floor and the walls and in churches the selling. More richer homes and churches also had coloured marble planks laid on the usually brick wall for the colours.) While I have been able to recreate the marble technique I am very disappointed that I can really replicate the mosaics. I will try my best to vaguely imply that something is a mosaic but don't get your hopes up.

If you have any question about byzantine architecture feel free to ask, also if have any suggestions for the mosaics please express them in the comments

Thanks for reading:) also here's another pick;)

I've not yet experimented with the latest release, but it appears to allow one to add new paintings.
Using custom paintings for mosaics might be worth trying. (It would certainly require less labor than creating custom maps.)

Actually, I HAVE seen the user marvelfannumber2 use custom maps in item frames with pictures of mosaics on them in order to replicate mosaics. However, this is difficult, and when building the chapel in a build of Rochester castle, I just used the most basic colors for each part of a reconstructed fresco. And honestly, with stuff like that, the best you can do is really just using the best blocks that fit the colors and texture of a part of a fresco or mosaic. I hope this reads clearly enough…

Yes that is what am currently doing since I got no skill or patience tbh to do so many custome maps. Since every church or rich house would have to be filled with many different ones. But am hoping the scale and quality of the project would be enough to make up for it
