Hey guys Master G here with my all new guide to leveling up on PMC!
I made this because I know a lot of people who struggle to Level up on PMC.
1. Profile
You might think that your profile isn’t important at all because you think only the submissions are important. Well this is where that’s all going to change.
1.1 Name
You think your name doesn’t matter at all compared to your builds and submissions but think about all the people that see you and your profile. The name does matter because obviously if your name is something like xX_n0oB1sh_K1lL3r_Xx you won’t get much views because people will think you’re seriously a noob. Of course if your name is AwesomeDude people will think you’re just some dude who thinks he’s better than everyone and again you won’t get much Experience Points from that either. So what is a good name? Well I made up some examples that you might like: Craftworks, InjuredSoul or something like Cookielord. Now these aren’t the best names but they are way better than the 2 weird ones.
Tips on name choices:
Don’t put famous peoples name or Game Characters.
Don’t put your real name and surname
Don’t put your location
Don’t put personal information
Don’t put things like Awesome, Ultimate or Epic
Don’t put numbers unless you have to eg.Jordanw5432, there are a lot of Jordan’s on PMC so he had to add some numbers.
1.2 Profile Picture
Ah of course the Profile Picture who almost everyone has it wrong.
The Profile Picture is your avatar, which many people see you like. So no-one wants to be seen as a Steve or a Troll Face. The Profile Picture should NOT be some quote, a silly picture (from cartoons, etc.) and it should NOT be a picture of you In Real Life!
What are the Best Profile Pictures?
The Best Profile Pictures are:
Some art which is you animated
A 3D Face of your skin
Some other art that it is recognizable that it’s you.
What other Profile Pictures will get you a lot of XP.
Of Course everyone likes famous people or famous singers so obviously that will also get you a lot of XP (it is wrong but it is true)
What Profile Pictures NOT to put.
Don’t leave it empty so that it’s a Steve head!
Don’t put Troll Faces!
Don’t put yourself in real life!
Don’t put things from Cartoons, Games, Movies, etc.
(I mean Stupid things from that not just characters)
Don’t put your skin of you Minecraft!
1.3 Description
The Description is where everyone who clicks on you sees your profile which means they could dislike you with only the look of your profile.
Your Profile should be medium sized but clean not messy. If you have a lot of information about your posts and yourself then it might be long. Don’t make it long if there is a lot of gifs, rather put them in a spoiler so they can click if they want too. My profile is a bit messy now but I’ll try to sort that out soon, my profile has all the main details which is: My IGN, what I’ll be posting, upcoming stuff, goals, etc. My goals are in spoilers and so are my Top 15 PMC’ers. Spoilers are a great way to keep your profile neat and tidy so things aren’t just everywhere around the place.
Tips of what to put on your description:
Put some fan made stuff or make something like my Top 15 PMC’ers so they can feel nice and then they’d be nice to you.
Put Goals because everyone wants to see what you want to become on PMC.
Put a list of Upcoming Uploads so people know what they should be expecting next!
Tips on what NOT to put on your description:
Don’t put a lot of gifs or funny pictures!
Don’t put weird stuff!
Don’t put people you hate or dislike!
Don’t put people who been mean to you before and call them dumb!
2. Uploads
The Uploads are one of the Most Important things to help you level up here’s how and why.
2.1 Quality Vs Quantity
The good old question what is better? Quality? Or Quantity?
Now I know that many, many people will say I am wrong with what I am about to say, but I am not for multiple reasons.
The Answer to the question is Quantity.
You’re probably going to say that I’m wrong that quantity is better but how do you think Jordanw5432, Luke.W.Lake, Spacegames and many more including me levelled up?
I have 249 Submissions, Jordan has 280 and we are both on very high Levels so that just shows that we had a lot of submissions and that’s how we levelled up.
For some people which is about 1% of PMC’ers Quality works but the reason it doesn’t for most people because you could spend 2 Years on a build and it would barely get noticed while some other map that took 15 Minutes would be a lot more popular.
2.2 What Direction?
Many people struggle when they join PMC because they don’t know what to do or in what Direction to go. A lot of people go on the skinning or projecting direction, not many people go to the modding or packing directions. I went to the Projecting, Skinning and Blogging direction, I tried making a pack once but I failed miserably so I decided to stick with my current route.
My advice is to try everything once!
Tips on where to go and why:
If you’re great at making maps, make maps.
If you’re great at making skins, make skins.
If you’re great at writing stories or making art, make blogs.
If you’re great at art, try making a pack.
If you’re great at programming, try making a mod.
3. What to do in each direction?
So you don’t know what to do in the direction you’ve chosen well here’s what to do and how to do it.
3.1 Project Making
My favourite, Project making!
In order with the rules of PMC you can’t just post a random seed or a world to be considered a map and you can’t just place a block and post it.
So my advice is to make short but good maps, if you’re making an Adventure map try to make it long but complicated. If you’re making Organic work make something cool but small. If you’re making Terraforming use Programs (I don’t use any myself because I don’t know how to). If you’re making big huge structures or buildings try make them big but easy for you to make.
Always use shaders and make nice pictures when for you to post on PMC!
Tips on what and what not to do on your maps:
Make something interesting and special.
Make something popular and not something only you know about.
Make something new and not something someone has made a million times before.
Don’t make stupid or weird things.
Don’t make things that are against the rules.
Don’t make things that are too bad.
3.2 Skinning
More than 50% of the community does skinning as their main direction. There are many famous skinners on PMC but that is only about 3% or 4% .80%+ does skinning while more than 75% of those skins are bad.
If you want to level up skins are a great way to because you can make medium quality skins in about 5-10 minutes!
Tips on making the skins:
Make something famous or something unique
Don’t forget to shade because it only takes a few seconds to shade your skin!
Don’t make too bad skins because then that won’t help you to get XP at all!
3.3 Blogging
Blogs have almost endless possibilities because you could do anything from Stories to Tutorials, from Interviews to Lets Plays.
Always make medium quality blogs for example make medium quality tutorials. On stories try to make it fun and not boring or weird!
On Interviews try to ask the same questions and if you can’t do a lot and you can’t fulfil everyone’s request for an interview, do start it.
Tips on Making Blogs:
If you’re going to make Let’s Plays make a video and don’t just put writing because writing Let’s Plays is Reviewing and then you have to put it in the Review section.
If you’re going to make art blogs try to keep it updated with the newest of things.
If you make tutorials make them clear and try add in game photos.
3.4 Texture/Resource Packing
I wouldn’t advise making Resource Packs for Leveling up quickly but there is still a way of leveling up on PMC with them.
I would advise making simple or cartoon packs (take note not to make cartoon packs unless you’re a good artist)
I don’t think that Realistic Packs are good for levelling up because it would take a long time to make.
Tips on Making Texture/Resource Packing:
Make unique ones try make something new.
Make famous Cartoon ones.
Don’t make ones against PMC rules.
Don’t make packs too complicated for you.
3.5 Modding
Well I never tried modding but I kinda know how to do it but anyway knowing how to do it doesn’t matter it just matters that I know a few tricks to leveling up fast with uploading mods!
The best type of mods you can make are food or furniture mods, maybe you could even make an extra mobs mod!
Tips on making Mods:
As always make something new!
If making a food mod try making something that wasn’t made before!
Don’t make too complicated mods because that would take forever and it might not even be so good!
Don’t make mods that are just useless!
3.6 Servers
Many people post servers because they all want the best server well here’s how to make the best server and get lots of XP.
I don’t have anything to tell you really so I’ll just go ahead and list the tips.
Tips on making Servers:
Be kind and friendly to all your players.
If someone trolls or griefs just tell them to stop nicely, if they don’t ban them.
Always make sure to have a fun server hub (map creators might be useful there)
Make sure to have fun maps to play because they will always keep your members happy!
4. Friends
I put this in a completely separate topic because it is very informative!
Everyone needs friends and that is a well-known fact. A lot of people don’t have a lot of friends but without friends, having a lot of submissions is pointless. Having friends is great for chatting to or talking or just joking around with. There is also another reason friends are great to have. Friends will normally diamond and maybe favourite anything they see you post so then it is great to have friends who will do that because then you’ll have a lot more chance of getting a lot more diamonds and favourites which leads to XP!
Luke.W.Lake has more submissions than me but is only on Level.30 only because he has less friends than me.
Tips on making friends on PMC:
Make friends by going on chat or by replying on comments you get from submissions
Make friends on commenting on other peoples stuff
Ask me for a few friends, I know a huge list of great friends!
5. Chat & Forums
These are both great ways to make friends and make yourself known to the community.
5.1 Chat
Chat is a great way to communicate with the community and quickly so you don’t just have to wait for a comment.
Chat is always on and sometimes it might be a good idea to ask your friends to come to chat!
Plus you can advertise your work every 15 minutes so more people will see it.
5.2 Forums
Forums are literally where you can talk about almost anything. This is a great way to make contests and such. You can even ask questions or make polls or anything.
This is a great place to make an introduction if you’re a new member to PMC.
Don’t put stupid questions and other things that people won’t enjoy though.
6. Contests
There are and always will be official PMC contests, you should enter most of them because then you would get recognized if you got a high score!
Most likely you should enter the type of contests that your good at and don’t enter Project contests if you suck at making projects.
7. The End
I hope this was very useful and I hope you can now Level up easier!

This is a very good blog for people looking to level up fast, even though I may not agree, I'm sure lots of people do!
I just prefer to appreciate the hard work people have put into their projects (whether it be skins, mods, etc.) rather than notice the posts that have little effort put into them. Either way, nice blog! c:
Haha yeah, the main thing is to have high quality work sometimes, don't always go for quantity :P
Thanks :D
And also I have very rarely seen high quality content being out ranked by something that's shit, put together in 5 minutes.
