CHAPTER 13
And again, the sun rose. And another night spent in silence. And again, a Chad breaking it.
"I'm sorry about last night," he said, "Can we just forget about all of this?"
"Fine," I said, "I'm getting sick of this, too. We shouldn't be fighting. And I especially shouldn't be fighting with my FIRST friend."
"Yeah... we're friends." he replied. We took the cactus house down, and if I'm right, that will be the last time we'll need one. We should see the village tonight. So we kept walking to where we needed to be, at least one of us trying to keep the conversation going at all times.
"So... how do you think Rachel and Dave are doing?" I said.
"I don't know; hopefully fine."
"Yeah..."
"How do you think Spawner's doing?"
"I don't know; hopefully fine." I laughed. And Chad laughed. We don't have to be boring ALL the time. And just to keep it going...
"Yeah..." Chad said. "You know, I feel like something else is gonna happen. This adventure doesn't seem... adventure-y enough."
"It doesn't, does it? I bet something else WILL happen. That's just how things like this go... it can't be this easy."
"Nope." And right on cue, I saw a figure in the distance.

The figure increasingly got more distinguished. It was another person. What was someone doing out here in the desert? As we neared, I could see it was a guy, with brown, curly hair, and... wearing no shirt. But it was the desert, and he probably didn't expect other people to be here.
The guy must have saw us, too. He shouted "Hey! Who are you!? What are you doing way out here?" to us. I decided to wait until we got closer to say anything.
So I shouted "Hold on!" He nodded, at least I think he did. We ran up to him.
"Who are you guys?" the shirtless dude said.
"I'm Emily... and this Chad." I gestured my hand towards Chad. "Who are you?"
"I'm Thomas, but my friends call me Tom."
"OK. We'll call you Tom." This guy was seriously hot...
"Emily, before we can call this guy our friend, we should probably at least know what he's doing here." Chad whispered to me.
"No...no..." I said, like an idiot. But I wasn't slouching over like one of those creepy crush girls... still standing straight.
"No... what?" Tom said.
"No we don't have to know what you're doing here..." I said, like an idiot again.
"EMILY!" Chad yelled.
"Well, I'm just exploring, but I didn't know I would meet other people." Tom replied.
"That's cool!" I kept saying the most stupid things.
"What are you guys doing here?"
Chad crossed his arms. "We're trying to save Minecraftia, if you must know." he said. What was his deal?
"Oh?"
"Yeah, so if you excuse us..." Chad started walking away. I grabbed his arm.
"Chad, isn't that kind of rude?" I whispered
"So what? We have to get going."
"I think we can stay for a couple minutes."
"Emily, really-"
"If you want to go, go ahead. I'll catch up later." Chad then looked at Tom, and then back at me.
"Fine. But don't stay too long...it might be awhile before you can catch up if you wait long." So he started walking ahead. Slowly, though. And I went back over to talk to the really cute guy...
"So, where are you from?" I asked.

After a couple of minutes, I decided I should go and catch back up to Chad. "I've got to go now. It was nice talking to you." I started heading in the direction Chad went.
"Wait. It just so happens I'm heading in the same direction. Can I come with you?" Tom asked.
"Um...sure! But you got to keep up!" Luckily I could still see Chad in the empty desert view. I started running where he was, with Tom right beside me. If we were racing, it would have been a tie when we got to Chad.
"What's he doing here?" he asked.
"Turns out he's going the same way as us, so I said he can come along! Isn't that great?"
"Yeah. Fantastic."
