Everyone wants to run a server!
So i'm going to be writing this to teach you guys how to : run a minecraft server, about plug-ins , Minecraft Hosts and much more.

Let's Start With.

#1 If you really wan to run a stable server, and are shooting for a good traffic and no lag, then i recommend . Never using Hamachi. Some people have bad connections and might lag. Others might even hack you. Don't ask me why/how this even happens but iv'e done it before.

#2 What you need Is a Real Good Server hosting service. Really good ones i recommend are AvanteHosting.net
BeastNode.org and Devildogshosting.com , If you are on a tight spot with money. Go for Avante where you can get a server that supports 32 people for $12 per month, 8 players for $4 . Now that is really cheap. My server runs on a 48 slot player server hosted by DevilDogsHosting [DDH] . Now if you want to know the prices for the other hosting services you can google them and eventually find the prices.

#3 Now. Next thing you need. is at least some idea on what you want to do with the server itself. Either if it's going to be a PvP server or Just a Free Build / Survival Server.
If it's going to be a PvP server i recommend using the plugin called Factions.
If it's going to be a FreeBuild and Survival Server, i recommend getting Towny a lot of people seem to enjoy using this on my server >.>

#4 Plug-Ins is a very, VERY important thing when you run servers. The MUST HAVE plug-ins i recommend are: Essentials , EssentialsChat , EssentialsSpawn , mcbans , LogBlock, LWC , iConomy , ChestShop ,NoCheat ,CreeperHeal , OrebFuscator (anti-xray plugin) , World Edit , World Guard and a Permissions Plug-in.

#5 Now Permissions is something really important when your running a server. without it players can't do much :P and in other to do most they're going to need OP now you don't want to give op to random strangers right?
so , There are a few Permission Plug-Ins you could choose from. The one i (Personally) Recommend is PermissionsEX Or Group Manager. They both work the same and i have used both before. I still run on PEX <3

Those are the basic things you need to think about it before you start your own Minecraft server.

Tomorrow I will write about , How to : Set Up Permissions and why it is so Important.

If you are running the server on your personal computer.
Google "Whats my ip"
Click first link
that's the link your're going to give out for players to connect to your server.
Always remember to port forward though , without it players can't connect to your server.
