This blog is basically just the many things I've learned on hardcore faction PVP servers.
Tip 1 Keeping stuff safe in case of hackers.
In a hardcore faction PVP server you can never be too safe with your stuff. In case of a hacker using noclip (a hack that lets you go through walls) always cover your chests with one or two blocks of dirt. Covering your chests with dirt makes it so that the chest itself can't be opened. The only way the chest can be opened is if the dirt is removed, which if your faction has the land claimed is only possible by you and your faction members. This is almost fool proof the only way they can get in your chests is if they claim the land or get really really lucky with a tnt cannon.
Tip 2 Not being betrayed
If you don't want to log on one day and have all your stuff missing because one of your members took all your stuff and left I would suggest either going solo or only inviting people you know in real life. There is a way though where you can have many people you don't know in your faction and still not be betrayed, but this depends on what the server permits. If the server allows both the /sethome command and the /f sethome command and has warps (commands /warp, /warp set , /warp list) you can make a 1 land plot that is just a box and have it as your faction home. In this box you put a list of rules for your faction and a list of warps to various bases that you have made across the world. This list will not include your main base only you and your friends from real life should live in your main base.
Tip 3 How to make a working TNT cannon
This one isn't so much a tip but more of something you need to know always. Most TNT cannons you find on youtube will not work this model of a TNT cannon is the only cannon that me and my friend could concoct that worked. If you dont want to enchant weapons or can't, use a axe of the server has McMMO. It does more damage and range than a normal sword.
#1 dont be affraid to be an asshole, if you see some guy whos just starting out and you can kill him do it, this makes you feared and hated so you get attacked more (its better to get attacked at your base then at another persons base because you have a 30 percent defense bonus)
#2 if you see stuff like YOU READY YOUR SWORD this is great because it means mcmmo (minecraft skills) they give you insta mine extra drops and extra stuff (go here for full detail http://mcmmo.wikia.com/wiki/McMMO_Wiki)
#3 if they have i conomy use it, people can rob your chests but not your money.
#4 whatch out for client mods, this allow people to attack you from far ranges and even if your in safe zone(some client mods can generate premade houses aswell)
#5 be sure to always have a sword if you have 3 iron and you need a pick but you dont have a sword you better make that sword
#6 afks when a person is afk kill them after you die you log out if you havent clicked respawn in 60seconds
#7 creeper bobming its time to love creepers imagine them as your own rcxd you basicly get one to follow you then go right up against the spot of your enemies base you want attacked let it blow up (try to reduce your damage taken) then you can go in (aim for doors, windows ,and chests)
#8 protecting your base method A
make a base above ground cover it in water this allows no tnt damage what so ever
#9 base method B make an underground base, dig a straight pillar under to lvl 20 then fill the hole back with dirt so its inconspicuous then set faction home in the underground base they have to use the tnt to go all the way down( around 15-75 tnt) so then make important parts obsidian
#10 ask me to join your faction, i love pvping and im usually number one faction(not to tute my own horn but im pretty good)
