To me, trolls are like cockroaches. They are the annoying little bugs that will not die, no matter how many times you seem to step on them. You just go *STOMP STOMP STOMP* then lift your foot up, and the little bastard just scurries away as if nothing had happened.

What are trolls?

Well, according to the Urban Dictionary, an internet troll is defined as "One who posts a deliberately provocative message to a newsgroup or message board with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument." Now, to me, that is a bit specific. I like to think of it without the middle part. It should be more like "One who trys to cause the maximum disruption and argument he/she possibly can." Although it is one of the more major areas, trolling is not limited to posting. For example, there has been a very long argument about whether or not to remove the 'downvote' button from this site, because the trolls love to click it for no reason. However, that is not to say that trolling does not include posting. Probably the biggest way that I've seen trolls start flame wars on forums is by saying 'X game sucks! Y Game is so much better!' This is even more so when 'Y game' happens to be CoD.

Why do they do this?

For this, we head into the biology of a person. Every person has a small gland attached to their appendix. As you know, your appendix has a large chance to swell, and threaten to burst. This gland attached released the gases and fluids inside your appendix by releasing a horomone called trolololozine. This horomone releases pressure on the appendix, but causes a stimulus in the 'd*ck' section of your brain causing you to troll. Some people are naturally nice, and thus cannot troll, and are forced to have their appendix removed.

Nah, I'm just kidding, some people are just jerks.

How do we stop them?

Don't. Do. Anything. I'm serious. Don't do anything. Look back at the definition of 'troll'. Their goal is to recieve a reaction from their target. If you don't respond, no matter how much what they say makes your blood curdle, then they will get bored and move on. This site is doing a very bad job at this. Take the downvoting situation for example. They have been countless blogs and forum threading saying that this is unfair that they can do this, and that blahblahblah, and that blahblahblah. That is exactly what they want to see. They want to see it aggravate you, to poke you until you poke back. I have seen a large increase in downvoting on large and very well done projects since this argument started up. Ah! Look at me, going off on another tangent. Looks like I need to start a new blog. I hope this helps, to all of you new people to the internets.
