King here, with a tutorial on how to make a quick and easy medieval house. Most medieval houses are made up of mostly wood with hints of stone and wool. Some features of a medieval house are a chimney, wooden supports, arched roofing, and highlights with stairs and fence. The house I will be making is actually more of a barn but, meh. Lets get started!

The first feature is the wooden supports, which hold up the main part of the house. I usually use spruce wood due to its darkness in color and tone. Use odd numbers when spacing them in order to make it more symmetrical. I usually put them about 5 apart in the front and 3 apart on the sides. I also sometimes put wooden supports along the top or inside of the roof to add a realistic architectural effect. I space a 1 block space for a door and then usually put a block above it to seal it off.

Next, I add the walls and some detailing using fences and stairs. Some other good blocks for detailing are trapdoors, buttons, and levers. I use spruce wood again for the walls as it adds a darker theme, making it seem more... medieval. I then add stairs all the way around followed by fences, adding detail. Than I add slabs between the stairs to top it off. I then space windows evenly around the build to add lighting and a nice aesthetic effect.

Then, I add the roof. I used cobblestone in this, but regular stonebrick also works well. I make it stick out 1 block from the wall to make it seem more detailed. Some other features you can add to roofs are chimneys and facades. I sometimes add window in the front and back under the roof to let in more light. I make the roof taper a little but at the end to add to the medieval motif. Medieval houses can have a myriad of roofs varying from low and curved, to high and thin. I normally have my roof cover the first layer of the walls to add even more depth.

For interior, I use a lighter block for the floor to lighten up, and than add light using torches or glowstone. Putting glowstone in trapdoors is a classic technique that adds light, while still having wooden highlights to keep to the theme. I add bookcases and flowerpots along the walls, and maybe a painting or two. If your house has two floors you could add a staircase but, remember. Two block wide staircases only! (unless spiral staircase). One block wide staircases seem flimsy and not very detailed unless used properly. I normally use spiral staircases as the are more compact. In a bedroom, I add a bed (duh) and maybe bookshelves and a desk. I make drawers by putting a sign on a block, then an item frame, and then an anvil in the item frame, making drawers. Hope you this helps you make medieval style houses ;) Good Luck!

You should definitely post some pictures along with the text, written in the blog. It's very boring for many users to just sit and read, also it gets the blog seem more interesting, which will end with more views and a better tutorial.
(Just a tip)
