I joined in 1.3.2, but nowadays servers scare me. Honestly, they do. Whenever I go on one I try to avoid people as much as I can. No, wait, that's just like real life xD

I have to agree on this one. Servers that have such communities are hard to find nowadays. They are still there though! Just harder to find. I was searching for a server with a good community for a long time and I'm glad I searched well because now I'm with the best community I've ever played with!

I like the idea of peacful building and stuff like that.

I can see a future where there aren´t Quadrillion of PVP-Faction-Plotme-What-ever-Servers. Servers with a good playerbase are able to grow because servers, with owners who just want their players to donate so the owners can buy theirself some new things that aren´t related to the server, will probably shut down, which is good!

Stable servers will then expand to please the bigger playerbase. Probably there will be servers which please nearly all kinds of players. You, me, he, she, man even that PVP guy over there will have fun together. Building in cities or create your own city in the wild, Fighting in special pvp arenas where no one is getting really hurted, Hunting and mining with friends, whatever people wanna do they will be able to do it in the upcoming future!

You right. I'm a beta 1.5 guy, and that time it was all about building, I was on a friendly server, we built houses, castles...

and now? Only minigames, minigames and hunger games! The time changes...

It's not Minecraft. -_- It's the people playing Minecraft. The world has gotten worse and worse, and therefore all games have worse players. That is one owner, not all of them are like that. Servers need money to keep running!!! AND MINECRAFT IS STILL A GREAT GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT HAS ONLY GOTTEN BETTER! I agree on the skin thing, but not because of the teen thing. I hate how people no longer make their own skins. Mine is self made, and I'm happy with it. I will never, EVER, download a skin, nor up-load a skin to any website. So, I guess I don't really agree with you at all! And, PvP is one of THE BEST PARTS in Minecraft servers!!! (In my oppinion, of course) It pits people up against each other, with nothing but their skills. It's a death match, and it gives people from all over the world a chance to see whos better. Oh, and a word of advice, if you want to BUILD not FIGHT, then play creative. And, make friends with the nice people, and ignore the bad ones. And, if you dont like SERVERS, play in single-player. Simple. Don't blame the game. -_-

P.S.:This is all my oppinion, and I apologize if I sound rude, but I reaally needed a rant.

I am trying to recreate a lot of that original mc feeling on my server; people are nice and I don't charge donations. I think what happened though is that it just got popular, and it's what happens when games get popular. People interpreting the EULA as they did allowed them to set up servers that brought out, if not promoted, the greed in people; hopefully with the changes, server owners will have to do more of what it takes to connect with players on a more personal level and reward fairness in gameplay.

they server you just described sounds to me like pmc's official server. try it out ;o
