In an effort to increase the quality of our blog section, we'll be moderating the blogs and moving/removing posts that don't really fit the criteria for a blog.
So, to be fair, we should answer a couple questions about what, exactly, a blog is. A blog is best described as an online diary, that you openly share with other individuals. On PMC, you can't hide your blog or turn the comments off and on, however, on other blog sites you can. Here, you're sharing with the world. You can post about your day, the weird stuff that happened to you while playing Minecraft, the sort of experiences you have had online, why your parents think you're addicted, whatever. But there are a couple of things you need to remember:
1. Blogs are not one-sentence posts. One-sentence posts can be put in the forum, within reason. Too many one-sentece posts would be considered spam.
2. Blogs aren't meant for advertising servers. We have a server section for that.
3. Blogs aren't the most fantastic way to show off your projects, as your picture is limited to one. Use the projects section for that.
4. Blogs aren't to be used to generate "easy xp" by begging for comments.
Now, how to increase views to your blogs and get subscriptions? Here are some suggestions:
1. If you're posting a tutorial, post it like the person has just started his or her very first game. Go step by step. It's the best way to teach someone.
2. If you have a fantastic you-tube channel, by all means, post it here. You can add the link under images and videos.
3. If you're posting an opinion, expect to get some trolling and flames. We do moderate that sort of behavior, but it might be a bit before we get to it. Also try to remember that everyone has an opinion, and no one person's opinion is "right" and everyone else is "wrong."
4. The blog section is a fantastic place to post your creepypastas, fan stories, comics and the like. You can also post these in the Fan Art and Creativity forums if you want more traffic, but please don't cross-post.
Hope this clarifies what we're looking for in the blog section. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
