Emerald is a waste of time finding in my MineCraft but some people REALLY like emeralds.
Most people want emeralds on MineCraft server's.
Most of the time you only find 1 emerald but you 9 to make a emerald block.

One of the reasons emeralds are so rare, is they can only be found in chunks that have under "Extreme Hills" biomes in them.
