What's up with the skins? [RANT]... I think

I was playing minecraft and I changed my skin, closed minecraft and instead I got a skin that I was wearing yesterday... Then I died and it changed again... It was'nt in the updatelog that they changed the skin mechanic, why is that? Anyway please respond and well... Idk enjoy
