I have been asked many times why do we use skins on minecraft? Why don't we just all wear the same skin for example steve? Why can we make our own. Well i have done some research and i came  to  the conclusion of: It's because we want to feel special, a skin tells people about us, like usually when people see my skin they can tell i like legends of zelda,  we also use skins because we wanna feel special, heck who doesn't? The reason why we can make our own skins is because, sometimes we don't want to download stuff we won't to use our creative brains to come up with our own thing that makes us different from everyone in the world.
So the answer is what?:
Because everyone wants to feel very special
