Why is PVP so appealing?(A rant on PVP/Grief servers)

So... You are just playing on your favorite server, with all of your favorite/best stuff- and suddenly somebody comes and kills you and takes it all away! Not only that, but they take your stuff from your base and blow up your base that took you HOURS to make!

This is the kind of things I hate! It is also why I never play on PVP servers! In this blog you will see why I hate pvp and why people like it.

The Problem

The problem with pvp is that it is a never ending spiral! First you start with stuff and then you go outside spawn and you die. Eventually you get out and get stuff, and diamond stuff, then you go back AND OF COURSE YOU GET OWNED AGAIN! Another problem is that there are so many servers that have pvp and griefing that it is IMPOSSIBLE to find a server that will let you build in peace!


Why is it so popular?

What I have been wondering is why is PVP so popular? So I asked around and here is the most common answers:

* There is lots of "heart-pumping" moments

* Making other people feel bad makes most people feel good

* We all like to beat up on players who call it butter instead of gold

* I don't know
* Who are you?
* How did you get in here?

* Taking peoples stuff can help you reach bigger goals of being "the best there ever was"


PVP Games and their contribution.

PVP games have inspired a lot of this kind of stuff. Escpecially when the hunger games was released in Minecraft. Everybody was playing it- and loved the thrill of certain death approaching. Not only that- but when youtubers play PVP games- it makes other people want to pvp as well.


Conclusion

Pvp sucks and it should have never existed

Bottom line is- STOP MAKING PVP SERVERS. MAKE NON-PVP SERVERS WITH PVP WORLDS. SOME OF US ARE TIRED OF PVP


Now if you don't mind- I have some players to kill.

Well, you do have some strong points, but there are servers that only allow pvp in a certain area, and other servers sacrifice a small currency to keep your items. The main server I play on, you can get banned for stealing items that drop from pvp, because dropping items is a glitch on it.
