I have seen many mods through the years encouraging the use of emerald as a material for a tool. I am here to tell you why.

First, lets see how much people really want this. Many people keep asking for Mojang to make emerald tools. But the thing is, they are too lazy to download a mod. So people turn to scam videos to try to get a special way to find an emerald tool. The thing is, we really REALLY want emeralds to be usefull. So why won't Mojang release tools of emerald?

Reason 1: Mojang LOVES diamonds. Diamonds are why people play Minecraft. No question about it, w would hate it if there wasn't an OP legit weapon. Mojang knows this so they have merchendise about Steve wearing diamonds and foam swords. Since emerald is rare, it would proboably be more powerful than diamonds. Mojang would hate to have people returning the diamond merchandise because they want emerald. So then the people at mojang would have o make new box designs, new molds for the plastic, buy green colors instead of blue, etc. It would be a HUGE financial loss, more than the Wii U. There would be a bunch of unused perfectly good diamond toys that nobody wants. Also, programs that generate summon commands and Mine-Imator would not have the emerald stuff so people woulnt use it as much and then Minecraft would loe popularity.

Reason 2: Emeralds are rare. I know diamonds are pretty rare but emeralds are only in one biome. That's right, ONE. That means you have to go to a specific biome just to find them making them 38 TIMES as rare as diamond becuause 39 biomes-1 extreme hills=38 Biomes Diamonds Arent In. In order to make emerald gear POSSIBLE, Mojang would have to recode biome generation and emerald ore generation.

Thank you for reading my topic about why there will never be Emerald Tools, Gear, Or Weapons.

But wouldn't it make emerald gear cooler if you had to travel to one biome? Its like Getting the bottle of dragon's breath. You can only find it in the end. It's like a trophy. Just my opinion! :)
You do make a good case, but what about villagers? Sure, they say "get 26 of this random thing and ill give you one!" But is it really that hard to gather 18 wheat and 26 porkchops, sure it would take a while to get all 35 emeralds for the full set, but it would be worth it. And if ur too lazy, emeralds arent extremely rare, assuming uve already located that mountain biome. And i dont think people would give up their diamond merch, because diamond would still be important and neccesery. And if they do give up their diamond merch, they can add some kind of ability to diamond that 1-ups emerald, but at the same time still makes emerald just as worthy as diamond.
Emeralds can be gotten by villagers easy so if they add them they would be weak

I agree with reason 1, but emeralds aren't as rare as reason 2 suggests. Villages contain them in abundance for things as trivial as wheat.

One other problem with making emerald tools/armor is it discredits them as currency. You might as well just have diamonds. Nobody would use them for trading.
Well noone really trades them in the first place lol

I think they should add emerald tools really!
So many people are complaining that emeralds will be to "op" and it will be stronger then diamond.
Which may i remind them that emeralds are harder to find then diamond. If you find diamond you get 5-8 diamonds if you find emeralds you get 1 emerald and there is a 25% chance you will get 2 emeralds and a 10% chance you will get 3. I think mojang should add emerald tool but make emeralds harder to find.
That actually sounds like a good idea

Alright, even though this is a MONTH OLD, I couldn't resist to analyze this!

''Reason 1: Mojang LOVES diamonds''

You keep spouting all of this ''lel their gonna lose dere finances derp!'' nonsense! Mojang has a lot of influence on their fans, they could easily say: ''go liek emeralds'' and the fans would! Wanna know why? Their MOJANG. Also, saying their financial losses would be bigger than the Wii U is a huge exaggeration on your own part. ''There would be a bunch of unused perfectly good diamond toys that nobody wants.'' First of all, how do you know their ''perfectly good''? Second, stores could easily send the ''unused perfectly good diamond toys that nobody wants'' back to JINX. I'm just gonna ignore that last sentence about Minecraft losing popularity because it's slowly destroying my brain cells...

Reason 2: Emeralds are rare.

I would have agreed with this, if I didn't find 30 emeralds in under an hour yesterday on a survival server. Sure, Emeralds are restricted to one biome, but if Mojang did release emerald gear, it is a possibility they either: A) Make them more common, increase their spawn rates, etc, or B) Allow them to spawn in other biomes. Also, while I admit I'm not a programmer, I do know Java is pretty simple coding and recoding ''biome generation and emerald ore generation'' couldn't take a lot of time and energy. Also, you can trade with villages for emeralds.

In my opinion, if Mojang continues to add bosses, emerald gear would assist greatly! Take less damage with emerald armor and strike harder with an emerald sword, y'know? Diamonds aren't gonna last forever, eventually, Mojang is gonna have to make more ores/armor sets.

But I do agree with one statement:
''But the thing is, they are too lazy to download a mod.''

I apologize if I came off as harsh, that is all I have to say.

Emeralds may be hard to find by mining, but you can easily get them from villagers. Also, scientifcally, emeralds aren't as strong as Diamond.
There is no science in minecrafft. If there were i woulnt be able to bring the dead back to lifem or fight flying octopi in hell.

Emeralds are hard to find, but very easy to get. Just trade a few carrots and you have an emerald... So they are so rare, that you don't search them, but trade with villagers. They are a bit like currency of Minecraft. For example, I found three or four emeralds under ground, but have earned stacks of them by trading wheat and paper.
Deleted my post, eh? Couldn't handle the fact that it pretty much threw your entire blog in your face with no room to argue? Mind you, I agree that Minecraft will never have Emerald tools in Vanilla, but you're giving the wrong reasons.
I dont delete posts. If you gave reasons better than mine i wuld acknowledge that. im not a litte two year old you are. My stupid siser proboably got on and thought it would be funny to mess with my shit while I was at baseball practice.
Two possibilities here. Either you deleted my post and are trying to cover your rear, in which case that's your problem, or someone deleted it for you, in which case there's no need to continue arguing. If I have no clue who did it, then I have no one to blame for the fact that it's gone.
And, again, we are both saying that Minecraft will never have Emerald tools. Even if it's for different reasons, at least we agree there. :P

Also, no need for name-calling. I'm not going to go any further than to say that such things reveal far too much about the person doing it.

¬_¬ rage much
Rage? Where? I stated in a perfectly balanced way the fact that my post was deleted, and the possible reason being that I discredited this blog in its entirety. Mind you, as my above comment says, not only do we agree that Minecraft won't have Emerald tools, but I also agree that it's possible that jackcostello wasn't the one who deleted my post.
Truthfully, there's very little that can anger me. Mild irritation is the most I can express nowadays. You gain a lot of patience watching two children every day.

Isn't it kinda annoying how the user who posted this blog rages at everyone who doesn't agree with him? e.e
He isnt raging, he is talking in a normal tone, and i have a lot of respect for him because he handled it this way, and i do also have a sweetspot for anyone who takes care of kids all day. He is very respectful and iay sub him for that.

It's actually because emeralds are the currency in the Minecraft, not used for materials. It's like... Dollars in Minecraft, the money system!
exactly right.

fine, i guess ur rite about the "no emerald gear", but like oldmanNickerson said, they need to make villager trading better. u get the worst trades ever
the trades are pretty terrible. one time there was a villager who wanted 4 diamonds for an emerald. so, i poisoned him and lit him on fire for a slow, painful death. that was the first time i got legitimately mad at a computer generated object.

I found another way to add it, make slightly better than iron, but not as good as Diamond.
True that emerald gear should not be made, but emeralds should still have more uses than  just trading. After all, who would sacrifice an emerald for a block of wool? That is the kind of stuff some villagers are selling.
Nice blog. I see emerald as a fragile material so I don't think it would be stronger than diamond however if you say walked around on a server with emerald armor and emerald tools you would look pretty boss to say that you are that rich with resources. Will Mojang ever release emerald tools? Probably but I don't see it coming any time soon! Nice blog, again!

By the way nice snivy avatar! :D

emerald isn't rarer than diamond, its just only found in extreme hills biomes.
Which makes it only one possible place, so its rarer. there are less emerald ores generated in the world than diamond ores. Also emerald ore dosent spawn in clusters, but in ones.

once you find an extreme hills biome, its easy to find. i personally think diamond is a lot harder to get. also: trading.

Yea, none of these "reasons" actually make sense.

-- Reason 1: Completely wrong. Nobody would be returning their diamond merchandise because emerald tools became a thing. Nobody would care since emeralds are not nearly as popular as diamonds. Even if emerald merchandise did take off, it would have nearly no effect on the financial side of merchandise production. (not to mention, Mojang doesn't care about the production costs to make said merchandise)

-- Reason 2: They're not really rare at all, especially considering the fact that Extreme Hills biomes are very common in world generation. You can hardly walk around a 1.7/1.8 world without finding one. Not to mention villager trading.
Emeralds arent popular because they arent good like diamonds are.

dude, if i spawn in a desset surrounded byba mesa, ocean, and jungle..... i would have to walk alot in any direction to find extreme hills.

Diamonds are basically the figure-head of Minecraft. The chances of spawning by a mesa, an ocean and a jungle are extremely low. Basically, it's extremely rare to *not* spawn by the proper biome.

Reason 1 - Bullshit. There would be nothing like that. People buy diamond foam tools etc. because these are iconic for Minecraft. Finding diamonds is fun.
Reason 2 - Bullshit. Emeralds are not rare. There is plenty of them underground(extreme hills ofc) and if that wasn't enough, you can still farm them from villagers.
(In my opinion of course, kind sir)

There wont be any emerald tools because emeralds were made to be a currency, not to be just another mineral. Wood-Stone-Iron-Diamond system was made to become a pogress system and its' roots are so deep into Minecraft now that adding additional elements into it would be simply boring.
EXACTLY. Diamonds are an icon of MC, just like... uh... QUICK, I need an analogy!

i agree
Aren't you a little ray of sunshine! I don't care if you meant to respond to Crafterfr33; you replied to my comment.

I think that diamonds would still be hard to budge from the spotlight, as they've been an icon of the game that's recognised around the world for so long. Emeralds are reletively new in the history of MC, and currently are so rare and useless that they don't have the current fanbase that it would need to make emeralds ascend in popularity even if new OP items made of the gems were brought into the game.

Nice talking to a rude, easily-provoked PMCer!

This makes perfect sense and I agree. But Mojang doesn't make the merch though.
I think it's also a bit because minecraft is built up so much around diamonds. Adding emerald weapons would just simply change that. Diamonds are THE THING in minecraft to have. Yes emeralds are way rarer, but people even still value diamonds even more. There have been many songs written about diamonds, and they do have lots of diamond merchendise. Emeralds would probably just ruin the effect and make the whole idea of minecraft and diamonds different.

Minecraft just simply wouldn't be the same.

Actualy most of these "facts" are incorrect Minecraft only adds in things by demand, you can also find emralds in all biomes its just more common in extreme hills. Please do some researching before claiming something.
Just researched it because I thought the same as you. Technically they can spawn in any biome as long as Extreme Hills is in that chunk.
Example: a chunk that is 3/4 jungle and 1/4 extreme hills has a high chance of the emeralds spawning in the jungle parts simply because it takes up more space. Source: minecraft.gamepedia.com/Emerald_Ore#Ore_distribution
