Why does the skeleton have a bow?
(Seriously, please keep in mind that this is entirely made up for entertainment purposes)
The sun rose from above the mountains, allowing light through to the village. It was the typical morning, some freshly baked bread for breakfast, along side carrots and cooked potato. The little kids were running around, enjoying a nice game of hide and seek along side with their mates, running, dodging and weaving around the little cracks that were scattered along the village. One of the little boys quickly covered his mouth and nose with his hand, the face resembling disgust. As the boy quickly ran inside, the others followed, all with the face of revolt.
There was a terrible smell outside, kind of the smell of, dead zombie, rotten flesh. The smell was almost unbearable, all who stepped outside were assured to throw up. In a jiffy, all doors and windows were sealed shut, as everyone camped in their homes, not daring to open their doors.
As the hours went on, the smell got even worse. A few people had even died. Over a few hours, everyone started to realise something... The odour was melting their skin and flesh. Multiple severe panic attacks occurred, some even scared the death. Literally. Half the village people were just skeletons, some with half of their skin pealing off. The sight was petrifying, everyone was turning into half dead zombies, just that all the flesh and skin had been removed. They just remained a skeleton, the same person, just all their exterior body parts no longer remained on their body.
It took days on end for people to get over the fact that they were a skeleton, but eventually they got the hang of it. The odour was yet to remove itself from the village. It was a terrible smell. The villages also noticed something else, what had been causing this revolting smell. It was the zombies. The zombies that camp in the forest just up north of the village. The zombies were actually visible with the naked eye, and these zombies needed to be exterminated, because anything worse could happen.
All the villagers, or, skeletons you could say, gathered around, trying to converse ignoring the smell, and inventing a plan to get rid of the zombies. No one could just simply walk up to them and slay them with a sword, as they will be killed on sight. Not to mention the horrific odour reflecting of the zombies rotten, putrid body.
After hours of planning, they came up with the invention. A resource that could shoot projectiles, and defeat the zombies, as they could kill the zombies, from their own comfort, or discomfort, due to the smell. String and sticks were gathered, as they figured out a crafting recipe, and then the bow was born.
As they thought they had figured it out, and came up with a solution, they realised that they didn't even have projectiles to shoot, so after gathering more vital resources, the arrow was born later that day.
With the skeletons magnificent aim, all zombies were killed. Some had arrows speared right through their neck, some right through their heart, and others in their head. Before the smell got worse, the villagers set out a crew to cover up the bodies of the dead... dead... If that makes any sense.
Half the crew died due to the odour, half barely making it out alive, but odour drifted away after a day or so, allowing the village people, or skeletons to run free again.
The skeleton to this day, still fear zombies. Trying to keep their distance, with a bow in hand, ready to fire when one is in sight. The zombies still attack, and slay the village people. The skeletons wish they could save them, as they were once those people, but they can't, because they are now completely different types of creatures, but the village people just don't see that.
