MGB here, and I have something to tell you. The PMC Blogging Scene is dying. Less and less members are taking the time to write good quality content, and the amount of spammers and EXP grabbers is steadily on the rise. But, I'm sure you're asking yourself, what can I do to help? (If you're not, why are you reading this is the first place?)

Well, here are 3 things you can do to help!

Simple enough. More people posting quality content equals two things. More good things to read equals less people posting spam! More quality and less spam is exactly what the blogging section needs, as the quality content is quickly buried in the not-so-great posts. Now, you may be asking yourself what exaclty quality content is! The main thing you should pay attention to is the rules. The rules are very important (obviously). Beyond that, it depends on what you're writing about! If you're doing an interview, which seems to be quite popular these days, ask interesting, meaningful questions. Writing an article? Do research to be informed on the topics! Reviewing? There are two great articles by Jetra! Ranting? Go away please. <3 However, you may need to realize that you may not be a good writer. If you aren't a good writer, there's always the skin section! (Kidding, it's just as bad as the blog section <_<)
But seriously, if you're not the best writer, there's plenty of Bloggers around who I'm sure would love to help. Shoot me a PM and I can hook you up. :)

Before I even talk about reporting , I highly recommend you read an article by Charlizard about reporting correctly. Knowing how to report correctly is a very important part of reporting, after all.
Reporting is another way to help the blogging section. Reporting blogs that break the rules clears out the unwanted garbage that clogs up the blogging scene and helps to uncover the hidden gems. Think of yourself as a garbage man, who moonlights as a treasure hunter. Or something like that. You can also find out more about reporting in another blog I wrote, Grabbin' Flags.

I cannot stress this enough. Speaking from personal experience, being a blogger can be quiet discouraging. Working on a piece of writing, editing it, and going through the whole processes can take a lot of time and energy. All that work for maybe 5 diamonds, 50 views, and a comment or two can bring a guy (or girl) down. I'd encourage you to diamond, favorite, and comment on a blog you enjoy. Comments especially matter most to bloggers. They let us know what you did and didn't like about our writing, and it shows us what we can fix, and improve. Even if it's not constructive criticism, a simple "Hey, I loved this!" can go a long way. But please, don't misunderstand this. I am not in any way saying you should diamond willy nilly, in fact, I'm saying the opposite. We should have to earn your diamonds. Only diamond something you enjoy and even then, you don't have to. Just... think about doing it :P

Well, there you have it guys! 3 things you can do to help improve the quality of the blogging section. Posting quality content, reporting junk, and supporting good bloggers. Go forth, and save it's dying life!

Anyway, diamond if you liked it, fave if you loved it, and comment to tell me your exact thoughts!

Update #1 : by CalPal_ 09/28/2014 5:45:31 pmSep 28th, 2014

  • Fixed all the little "o"s everywhere
  • Added stuff to every section!
  • Fixed grammar, spelling, and nonsensical statements
  • Fixed the weird issues that I somehow missed in the original edit (as in, this was originally going to be a vlog. and was a script. that i eventually just changed to this. So there was some odd statements in there that would have only made sense in a video format. Edited though out. :P)
  • Fancy new MGB OUT (thanks Snowy <3)

  • Stared at the screen for a long time.
  • Cat attempted to help with the edit.
  • Removed cat's contribution, would have gotten blog removed for spam.

Yes! Thank you... I've been writing a story in the blog section for quite some time. The few readers I have acquired have really liked it, but I have not gotten many because all of the poorly-written crap that clogs the blog section in PMC. If everyone put more then ten minutes and half a brain cell's worth of thought process into their blogs and stories, everyone would be happier! All bloggers would get more XP, as the blog section would actually be something worth looking at.
