Works as the name would suggest (it makes gold pickaxes mine a 3×3 area instead of a single block to give them a use in game)
Works on all stone types as well as magma end stone and netherrack
I learnt how to do the ray casting from NOPEname's YouTube video here is the link if you want to find the video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=bY9ZW6J2suQ

Update #5 : by Enders Host 08/08/2018 8:30:15 pmAug 8th, 2018
Completely changed how the blocks are broken.
- non-stone blocks are no longer broken by the pickaxe
- now works under water and in cave air
- blocks are broken more natural resulting in less square edges when breaking blocks on a angle
- no more accidentally braking you torches

"Ambiguity between arguments [teleport, targets, location] and [teleport, targets, destination] with inputs: [0.1 -0.5 .9, 0 0 0]"
when trying to use a gold pickaxe.
For it to work you have to repair the folder structure because right now it's:
"...world\datapacks\3×3_gold_pickaxe_datapack_#3.zip\3×3_gold_pickaxe_datapack_#3\data\"
but it has to be so that the data folder is immediately in the first structure inside the zip file
"...\world\datapacks\3×3_gold_pickaxe_datapack_#3.zip\data\"
And that's how I got it to work
P.S. Datapacks don't have to be zip files, regular folders for each datapack sufficies e.g.:
"...\world\datapacks\3×3_gold_pickaxe_datapack_#3\data\"
- Download the zip file using the link above.
- Open your favorite world using your file browser, then find the "datapacks" subfolder.
Small side step: if you're having issues finding the right folder then just open your favorite world, pause, click on 'Options' => 'Resource packs' and then click the "Open resource pack folder" button in the lower left corner. Now a file manager will open and it will have the resource folder opened. Go up one level and you're in the main Minecraft folder. Now find the 'saves' folder and in there you'll find all your world saves. Open the right one and you'll see "datapacks".We now return to our regular tutorial:
- Place the zip file in the folder
Now...If you're already playing: use the /reload command. This will reload the whole thing, including the datapack, and you should be ready to go. You can check using: /datapack list. It should now list the new datapack.
If you're going to open the world: I just noticed that the datapack uses some automated functions (load and run tags). This often works, but can also glitch a bit on slower computers. Check that the datapack is available to you using: /datapack list. If things don't work just run: /reload to make sure, after that things should work as expected.
Hope this helps!
And even worse: if you break a "valid" block next to bedrock, the bedrock will break, too (but it won't drop as an item).
IDK how hard this would be to implement (nGoldTools does something like this but has a lot of other problems) but IMHO it would be better if the tools could only break valid blocks. So the pickaxe should only break stone-variants (+netherrack), the shovel only sand/dirt (podzol, mycellium, red-sand, ...) and the axe should only break logs (but from what I've seen the axe already works differently and has less problems).
thanks for the suggestions
Edit: The shovel is also fixed now
