I was currently in the middle of a Panacea update when the 1.19 update dropped. With it, came a bit of a disruption to the usual noise and aesthetics of the dimensions.

It will take a bit of time to tweak everything back to normal. If you don't mind some of the dimensions looking wonky, this version of the pack will work for you in 1.19.

However, this is still an experimental test version, so it also has its share of bugs that need fixing. This version of the pack also includes 1/2 of the Panacea update, including 2 new rare-ish biomes and a giant slime boss who's still being worked on. (Kinda a boring boss fight, needs a little zest). The boss also drops a weapon that was currently only obtainable with cheats, know as the Mortal Cull.

Here is a useful wiki that might help too, although it specifically addresses the original version. https://thebrackenpack.fandom.com/wiki/BrackenPack_Wiki

And a discord link too.

Lastly, with all worldgen data packs, it's always a good idea to backup any worlds you have before trying out the pack. Worldgen issues had also been reported as occurring when the pack was installed and the uninstalled too. This is also an experimental version of the Bracken Pack, so I'll be trying to make changes to the worldgen often until it gets ironed out.

Update #5 : by Brackenstrike 06/30/2022 11:18:25 pmJun 30th, 2022

All necessary density functions, including base_3d_noise, depth, sloped_cheese, jaggedness, offset, and factor density functions have been equipped for each of their respective dimensions.

At this point, most of the dimensions resemble their 1.18.2 forms, with just minor tweaking required to restore them. Panacea and the Brine require the most tuning, but might just be reworked entirely in line with their updates planned for the near future.

Hello sir, I recently re-installed your datapack on my server, working as intended except some details that can be quickly fixed, probably due to the fact you freshly updated it :P

- Some TP heights aren't appropriatly defined in dimensional_crossing, mainly on the overworld ones, the max world height being 384 now

- Structures are generating but loot tables seems to be broken, I can't find out why

- Every dimension seems to be the one I knew when I firstly downloaded it in 1.16 :D (except the new ones btw)

I fixed some problems for myself, also adapted it to some other datapacks I have - Amplified Nether - and integrated your to the server gameplay pretty well, I personaly love your work, as being one of the first dimensional-adding datapack known 👀

Feel free to contact me for any question ♥

Thank you so much! I will integrate those changes when I drop the next 1.19 version of the pack, hopefully sometime soon.

So, it adds dimensions, but how does one get to them? The wiki helps a little. But that sounds bad for game performance unless it works differently than it soumds like.
And could you, in theory, play a normal world and never experience a bit of this datapack?
And, is it compatible with terralith? I have no idea how the terrain code works, otherwise I'd probably know the answer. If this doesn't mess with vanilla overworld terrain, you'd think that there would be no interference.

You get to most of the dimensions by either digging down as deep as you can, or climbing up to the block limit. You can also travel to some dimensions by getting struck my lightning, wearing a creeper head and walking near a creeper, standing on a beacon, or by placing an end crystal in the nether and running in to it.

One of my goals in making the pack is to disrupt vanilla gameplay as little as possible. That way if someone equips the pack on their server, players who aren't a fan of the bracken pack can still experience something close to vanilla gameplay.

There's a lot more info on the main Bracken Pack PMC page.
It is from my knowledge quite optimized, especially for how big it is.
Technically, yes you could, but you do get the species beginner book at the start of the game.
Yes, the BP team makes sure to be compatible with almost any other datapacks, not changing much of the vanilla features, so it is compatible with terralith.

Hi, great data pack you have here. I was wondering what the best race would be for PVP. (Villain is out of the question by the way, cause my base is infested with Villagers since the SMP is about creating a Kingdom). Thank you in advance for answering my question :)

Depends on the playstyle I guess. These would be my top thee picks, but I honestly haven't had much experience testing my theories gameplay-wise.

-Realmkeepers are op for the early game because all forms of damage that are less than two hearts (even lava or poison) do zero damage.

-Faefolk have weakness, but their mobility allows you to whittle down a target's health at a safe distance.

-Automechs have slowness but are the most tanky out of all of the races. If you want to be as un-killable as possible in the late game that might be the way to go.

Could you make a version without texture packs or custom crafters, just for the vanilla feel?
