The other day I learned an interesting factoid: If you summon a wither skeleton with a bow using commands, it'll shoot flaming arrows, even if the bow wasn't enchanted with Flame. The flaming arrows are hardcoded into the game, so it feels like kind of a waste that these archer wither skeletons don't spawn in vanilla.

Here's another fact, but everyone already knows this one: Normal skeletons can spawn in nether fortresses. Ever since I read that on the wiki page all those years ago when the Pretty Scary Update first came out, I didn't think it made much sense. At first I thought it was just a mistake on Mojang's part, but it wasn't and they kept that feature in the game. So when I learned that archer wither skeletons have this hardcoded unique property, I decided to make this datapack that would replace all normal skeletons in nether fortresses with archer wither skeletons. This will make the nether slightly more challenging because of the flaming arrows, but in my opinion, it also makes it more fun!

On top of that, this datapack also adds wither jockeys. Every time a wither skeleton spawns, there's a 1/100 chance of it spawning on top of an untamed skeleton horse to create a normal wither jockey or even an archer wither jockey, depending on what the original wither skeleton's weapon was. This feature adds even more spice to nether fortresses. If you want to change the chance of a jockey spawning, you can go into "data/aws/predicates/chance.json" and change the value called "chance". By default, it's set to 0.01 for 1% (which is the same chance of spider jockeys spawning in the overworld), though you can change it if you want to.

That's pretty much it. Good luck!

Just letting you you have a small issue with your datapacks.
Its a minor thing and probably many ignore it but hey it's best to know in advance

[22:25:19] [main/WARN]: ResourcePack: ignored non-lowercase namespace: .DS_Store in .\world\datapacks\

I'll let you know on each one separately. so you know which ones I have confirmed

You commented on 3 datapacks, and even though I already responded to one of them, I'll respond to the others as well so that people who don't see that one will still be able to know what's going on with this issue.

Since it doesn't actually affect gameplay in any way, there's not really a point in fixing it. Minecraft automatically ignores the extra file so it doesn't cause any problems in-game.

Perhaps make the jockies on a different mob? Maybe like a skeleton horse?

Interesting idea. I'll see what I can do. I used spiders because wither jockeys are already in vanilla. If you use commands or a spawn egg to spawn a spider in the nether, there's a chance of a wither skeleton spawning on top. But maybe I should change it to something else.

I second that! Spiders are less thematic to the nether. Though black-coloured wither skeleton horses would look nicer than white ones. Hmm. Black-dyed horse armor? Wait, does horse armor show up on non-regular horses?

Also I've been messing with entities riding horses and controlling their combined movement. It's wonky, sometimes they make the horse walk backwards towards the player. It'd be cool tho!

You can't put horse armor on skeleton horses. What about a zombie horse instead? I always thought it would be cool if zombie horses could spawn in vanilla.

It would be cool. Though they aren't that thematic to the nether either. And I guess you can't put armor on them either. It might have to be white skeleton horses. It wouldn't look bad at all, though!
