Beasts & Monsters - More Mobs, Gear and Bosses [V2.7] [OPTIFINE] Minecraft Data Pack
Welcome to Beasts & Monsters, my largest datapack to date! Based and inspired by the Witcher franchise, folklore and fantasy, this datapack adds a plethora of content to Minecraft's overworld. From weak ghouls to immensely strong end-game vampires, the datapack features new enemies and items for every step in the player's journey. There are also a few new structures to be explored as well as a new raid event. In total, 32 mobs of which 6 are bosses. 80 items, both gear and loot. 23 advancements to guide the player along the way. 7 structures and finally a custom block used for almost all crafting.

To get started with Beasts & Monsters, craft the two guides, the Artifice and the Bestiary, and a witching table. The recipes for these are as follows:
  • The Artifice: 1 Book and 1 Rotten Flesh
  • The Bestiary: 1 Book and 1 Iron Ingot
  • The Witching Table: 1 Crafting Table and 1 Rotten Flesh
Use /function monsters_pack:admin/summon/... to spawn in the mobs.

Use /function monsters_pack:admin/give/... to get the items.

Use /function monsters_pack:uninstall to properly uninstall the datapack.

Use /function monsters_pack:update after updating to avoid spawning issues.

Bruxa

Spawning:

A powerful type of vampire. They might look normal at first, but do not let that fool you. Bruxae are exceptionally fast and dangerous.

Carcass

A rotting carcass that draws Rotfiends to it. Destroy it as fast as possible if you happen to find one.

Cockatrice


- 50 Health
- 9 Attack Damage
- 0.4 Movement Speed

Spawning:
Rare in the overworld

A nightmarish amalgamation between a chicken and a dragon. With swift movement and a venomous bite this beast finishes its prey quickly.

Crow


- 6 Health

Drops:
- 1-2 Crow Feather

Spawning:
Commonly in the overworld

A quite common animal, easily located by their iconic caw. Their feathers are useful in crafting.

Draugr


Draugr


- 30 Health
- 8 Attack Damage
- 50% Knockback Resistance
- 0.25 Movement Speed

Drops:
- 1-2 Iron Ingot
- 1-2 Rotten Flesh

Spawning:
Uncommonly in cold biomes

The living dead. Draugr often band together in larger groups which makes them much deadlier than on their own. Their horn can summon the frost legion.



Berserker

- 40 Health
- 10 Attack Damage
- 75% Knockback Resistance
- 0.3 Movement Speed

Drops:
- 1-2 Iron Ingot
- 1-2 Rotten Flesh

Summoning:
Only with the Frost Legion

Berserkers are bloodthirsty warriors without fear and will aimlessly charge its victims.



Chieftain

- 150 Health
- 16 Attack Damage
- 2 Attack Knockback
- 100% Knockback Resistance
- 0.2 Movement Speed

Drops:
- 2-3 Dark Metal
- 1-2 Rotten Flesh

Summoning:
Only with the Frost Legion

The leader of the Frost Legion. Strong at their own, but also having the ability to summon Berserkers from the ground.

Gargoyle


- 80 Health
- 12 Attack Damage
- 100% Knockback Resistance
- 0.15 Movement Speed

Effects:
- Nausea (6s)

Drops:
- 1-2 Elemental Gem
- 3-5 Flint

Spawning:
Rarely in the overworld

This statue is not what it seems. Gargoyles can become animate at any moment when you least expect it, revealing a tough opponent.

Ghoul


Ghoul

- 20 Health
- 4 Attack Damage
- 0.25 Movement Speed

Drops:
- 1-2 String
- 0-1 Monster Blood

Spawning:
Commonly in the overworld

These creatures roam the lands in high numbers, feasting on corpses wherever they might find one. Not particularly dangerous.



Armored Ghoul

- 20 Health
- 4 Attack Damage
- 0.25 Movement Speed
- 12 Armor

Drops:
- 1-2 String
- 0-1 Monster Blood
- 2-3 Silver Nugget
- 2-3 Gold Nugget

Spawning:
Uncommonly in the overworld

An armored variant of the normal Ghoul. Prefers cutlery over actual armor.

Goblin


Goblin

- 16 Health
- 4 Attack Damage
- 0.3 Movement Speed

Drops:
- 1-2 Torch
- 0-1 Iron Pickaxe

Spawning:
In Goblin Huts

Short, greedy and clever. Goblins are attracted to ores and gems and will sometimes trade diamonds for their goods. Can be found in small huts in taigas and deep down in the mines.



Goblin Miner

- 16 Health
- 6 Attack Damage
- 0.3 Movement Speed

Drops:
- 1-2 Torch
- 0-1 Iron Pickaxe

Spawning:
Uncommonly underground

The Goblin Miner won't hesitate to hurt anybody interfering with their mining business. Can't be traded with.

Grizzly Bear


- 60 Health
- 10 Attack Damage
- 80% Knockback Resistance
- 0.35 Movement Speed

Drops:
- 0-2 Cod
- 0-2 Salmon
- 3-5 Fur

Spawning:
Uncommonly in the overworld

Though not anything more than ferocious beasts, bears pose a threat to anybody not well equipped or ready for their attack.

Mare


- 60 Health
- 5 Attack Damage
- 0.4 Movement Speed

Effects:
- Wither III (3s)
- Blindness (10s)

Weaknesses:
- Silver

Drops
- 1-2 Nightmare Essence

Spawning:
- About a 1/12 every night

Summoning:
- 1 Blood Gem (Ritual Circle)
- 1 Crow Feather (Ritual Circle)

Shy spectres that prefer to attack the mind. Mares randomly choose a sleeping target and then drain their energy for themselves.

Rotfiend


- 30 Health
- 5 Attack Damage
- 0.2 Movement Speed

Effects:
- Poison I (11s)

Drops
- 0-1 Entrails
- 0-1 Monster Blood

Spawning:
Commonly in the overworld

Repulsive, vile or disgusting are all good descriptions. These common monsters spread plague and disease among the dead and living.

Siren


- 20 Health
- 4 Attack Damage

Drops:
- 0-1 Siren Tear
- 1-2 Cod

Spawning:
Uncommonly in the ocean

This sea dwelling creature can be recognized by its hypnotizing song. Sirens will quickly drown and devour anybody unfortunate to fall overboard.

Spirit


- 20 Health
- 0.25 Movement Speed

Effects:
- Poison I (5s)

Drops
- 0-1 Specter Dust

Spawning:
Uncommonly in the overworld

The weakest spectre type monster. Wanders the nights aimlessly armed with bows and venomous arrows.

Trapper


- 20 Health

Spawning:
Rarely in the overworld

A lone villager living in a log cabin. The trapper sells and buys items related to hunting monsters.

Troll


- 150 Health
- 10 Attack Damage
- 100% Knockback Resistance
- 0.25 Movement Speed

Effects:
- Nausea (6s)

Drops:
- 5-10 Sweet Berries
- 2-3 Troll Hide
- 1-2 Monster Blood
- 0-1 Ancient Seed

Spawning:
Rarely in the overworld

Large, strong brutes with a very limited intellect. Trolls like to build caves to live in and smash things with their clubs.

Unicorn


- 20 Health
- 0.4 Movement Speed

Spawning:
Very rarely in the overworld

A rare subspecies of the horse. Unicorns possess the ability to jump higher and run faster than any other horse, but can only be tamed with golden apples.

Werewolf


- 100 Health
- 7 Attack Damage
- 50% Knockback Resistance
- 0.4 Movement Speed

Effects:
- Bleeding I (10-20s)

Weaknesses:
- Silver

Drops:
- 1-2 Monster Blood
- 1 Werewolf Heart
- 1-2 Razor Tooth
- 2-3 Fur

Spawning:
Rarely among villagers

These monsters hide among the villagers, but reek during the night. Killing these villagers reveals their true form being savage killers. Look for potion effects among your villagers.

Wight


Wight

- 40 Health
- 9 Attack Damage
- 0.3 Movement Speed

Drops:
- 1-2 Iron Ingot
- 0-1 Monster Blood

Spawning:
Uncommonly in the overworld

Similar to ghouls, but much stronger. Wights like to wear armor and weapons they found and are capable fighters.



Wanderer

- 40 Health
- 9 Attack Damage
- 0.35 Movement Speed

Drops:
- 1-2 Gold Ingot
- 0-1 Monster Blood

Spawning:
Uncommonly in desert biomes

These desert variants of the wights are even more dangerous than the normal ones.

Wraith


- 100 Health
- 6 Attack Damage
- 75% Knockback Resistance
- 0.3 Movement Speed

Effects:
- Slowness IV (1s)

Weaknesses:
- Silver

Drops:
- 1-2 Specter Dust
- 0-1 Wraith Charm

Spawning:
Rarely in the overworld

Summoning:
- Breaking a bone pile (Crypt)

These ghosts remain after death to haunt and dispense pain. With dominion over lesser spectres, wraiths often summon reinforcements.

Wyvern


- 100 Health
- 20 Attack Damage
- 6 Attack Knockback

Effects:
- Poison I (15s)
- Hunger I (15s)
- Bleeding I (10-20s)

Drops:
- 1-2 Wyvern Bone
- 1-2 Razor Tooth
- 1-2 Monster Blood

Spawning:
Rarely in the overworld

A cousin of the dragon. Wyverns lack the ability to breathe fire, but still pose a threat with big claws and a venomous bite.

Chimera


- 200 Health
- 12 Attack Damage
- 90% Knockback Resistance
- 0.35 Movement Speed

Effects:
- Bleeding I (10-20s)
- Slowness IV (5s)

Weaknesses:
- Silver

Drops
- 1-2 Razor Tooth
- 1-2 Monster Blood
- 1 Liquid Inferno

Spawning:
Very rarely in savannah biomes

Three deadly animals, combined into one. The chimera is an immensely strong fire breathing monster with a many ways to kill you.

Djinn


- 150 Health
- 15 Attack Damage
- 5 Attack Knockback

Effects:
- Slowness IV (5s)
- Instant Damage
- Levitation

Weaknesses:
- Silver
- Magic Mixture

Drops:
- 1-2 Magic Core

Summoning:
- Bottled Spirit (Elven Tower)

Basically an orb of raw magic power. Easily dispatches any foe with elemental powers. Must be spawned on top of elven towers in the mountains with a bottled spirit, that can found when fishing.

Elder Vampire


- 300 Health
- 12 Attack Damage
- 100% Knockback Resistance
- 0.6 Movement Speed

Effects:
- Bleeding I (10-20s)
- Bleeding II (20s)

Weaknesses:
- Ínfused Silver

Drops:
- 2-3 Elder Blood

Summoning:
- 1 Blood Gem (Ritual Circle)
- 1 Vampire Saliva (Ritual Circle)

Unmatched in speed, strength and also having the ability to become immaterial. Only the infused silver sword is able to scratch this eternal being.

Fiend


- 200 Health
- 15 Attack Damage
- 8 Attack Knockback
- 100% Knockback Resistance
- 0.3 Movement Speed

Effects:
- Nausea (10s)

Drops
- 10-15 Fur
- 10-15 Fiend Meat
- 2-3 Monster Blood

Spawning:
Very rarely in birch forests

An extremely deadly beast. Due to its gargantuan size, it quickly crushes and smashes any opposition in moments.

Leshen


- 250 Health
- 8 Attack Damage
- 90% Knockback Resistance
- 0.25 Movement Speed

Effects:
- Bleeding I (10-20s)

Weaknesses:
- Silver
- Burning

Drops:
- 2-3 Ancient Bark
- 1-2 Vine

Summoning:
- 1 Ancient Seed (Ritual Altar)

Harmful woodland spirits that inhabit the old growth pine and taiga forests. Controls roots that can entangle and impale anyone who tread to close.

Royal Wyvern


- 150 Health
- 24 Attack Damage
- 8 Attack Knockback
- 100% Knockback Resistance

Effects:
- Poison II (15s)
- Hunger II (15s)
- Nausea (10s)
- Bleeding I (10-20s)

Drops:
- 1-2 Wyvern Bone
- 1-2 Razor Tooth
- 1 Venom Gland
- 1-2 Monster Blood

Summoning:
- Breaking a Wyvern's egg (Wyvern Nest)

A rarer and more dangerous variant of the wyvern. It is tougher and stronger than its kin and has the ability to spew venom.


Structures:

Crypt


An underground structure containing coffins with the dead. A good source of silver if you can get past the ghouls lurking in the shadows. Don't disturb the bone pile. Spawns rarely everywhere in the overworld.

Elven Tower


A remnant from a lost and forgotten time. The only known place you can free a Djinn from its prison, but don't expect it to be happy. Spawns uncommonly in mountain regions.

Goblin Hut


A small hut functioning as the homestead of some Goblins. The inhabitants are calmer and more willingly to trade diamonds for gear than the ones found in caves. Found rarely/uncommonly in taiga biomes.

Ritual Altar


A stone structure found in the forests. Druids use it for all kinds of mystic rituals. Find one of these and burn an ancient seed to summon a Leshen. Spawns uncommonly in dark forests.

Trapper House


A small log cabin found anywhere in the world. This is the home of the trapper, who trades monster loot. Spawns rarely in the overworld.

Troll Cave


The homestead and treasury of a Troll. Be careful of its guardian if you wish to take the troll hoard for yourself. Spawns rarely everywhere in the overworld.

Wyvern Nest


A structure reminiscent of a bird's nest, only much larger. The only known hatching places of the Wyvern's rarer and deadlier cousin, the Royal Wyvern. Spawns uncommonly in mountain regions.

Bug Fixes
- Updated the main download to a version fixed by MarkMis and iNkoR_the_2nd. I really appreciate the amount of work they have done to fix some of the bugs since I have had no chance to do it myself. Shoutout to both of them!

Love this pack, even though Ive never seen the witcher ( im working on it! lol ) the bosses are great and im really happy they arnt as disappointing as the ender dragon is. you really nailed that. and the books are great its really frustrating getting a mod or data pack installed and then having to craft a book rather then jut have it gien to you. its a shame the resource pack is separate and not just all together, but im sure theres a good reason and besides, its not that much of an inconvenience to download both. though eventually combining the two sounds like a good idea. anyway, keep up the amazing work! and thanks again for this fantastic data pack!

I don't know if there's a way to do this but does anyone know of a way to remove just one of the custom textures from the resource pack? I am using it with another Datapacks, none of the textures are overlapping each other except the scimitar, and when I try removing it just gives the black and purple "undefined texture" thing.

Hi, I'm also looking for the same thing as someone else, I'm trying to stop the Leshen and some other stuff from spawning in mob farms, i've located the folder where you stated but don't know what else to do? Any help is appreciated

If you wish to stop the leshen spawning in mob farms, remove this line in the file 3seconds:

hello author there bug in you datapack. also I can not certainly confirm this bug. may I had mistaken. now I briefly expound my views:

in advancements folder, there is unworkable on in_savannah.json and so on.

so I try to fix it and found one solution
change them like this:

I think that is some kind of issue for the specific version you're playing and not a bug
