Better Chests Loot is a vanilla friendly datapack, it makes LootTables slightly better by adding new items to them and improving the chances of getting more and better loot. You can find more diamonds, or you may find better enchanted tools, or you might find totems of undying or tridents.

Other datapacks make the LootTables OP or extremely better, my idea is to improve the rewards that you can obtain by exploring while being vanilla friendly, that is the point of the datapack.

Better Chests Loot is the first of my "vanilla plus" collection. My plan is to make more datapacks and resourcepacks, and keep actualizing it.

Almost every LootTable was modified, only "decorative chests" and village chests weren't.

If you find some kind of bug, please tell me on the comments. The most commond bug is an empty chest along with all of the chests that share that LootTable.

It work in 1.18.2, but its format should be changed from 8 to 9. Soon I'll upload a new post for 1.18.2 with format 9.

what are the max enchants available? i'd like to avoid mending

The levels work differently while programming, so I can't give you the right answer, but there is a function that enables "treasure" enchantments, one of them is mending, and that function is always on "true" which means that there is a possibility to obtain it on all gears. If you want to avoid it you will have to explore more. <3

Hmm, Doesn't work sometimes. I got only wheat and some potatoes from a village chest, maybe there is something wrong idk

There are few loot tables that aren't changed, one of them is the group of village chests. That is because it is so difficult to balance it, you can fin more than 20 chests in less than an hour, so it would be OP. Also, village chests are more "decoration" than a reward for exploring, that is the main reason of my decision. <3

may u pls explain to me what are u talking about (8... 9 format???) Im just a beginner in use if datapacks and need an explanation. and would this datapack properly work on 1.18.2?
